An engaging coding platform to hone skills, learn new languages and stay motivated
What do you like best about the product?
The UI/UX of CodeSignal is fantastic. I've been on the site for many years, back when it was CodeFights and it has only improved over time. I am 10+ year PHP and JS engineer, but I'm learning Python and Ruby, so I've been using CodeSignal as a way to solve bite-sized problems in the new languages. It's especially helpful that I can quickly switch to one my core languages, solve the problem and then 'port' the solution over into Python.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think they are transitioning more towards recruitment and interview testing, which takes away some of the original charm of the service. I had defeated 4 or 5 company bots, and then returned one day to see that they updated how that works and I have no defeated a total of 0 company bots, so that's disappointing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's great for working on common algorithm solutions and staying motivated with new languages. My co-worker who is new to programming also uses CodeSignal to break up the boring tutorials he is learning with some fun challenges in the Arcade.
Worthy Product
What do you like best about the product?
I like the questions here on Codesignal. It also provides a real-world practice environment where you can have a feel of actual coding test. Certificates provided by Codesignal can boost employer visibility
What do you dislike about the product?
I did not like the theme that much. It seems like Codesignal only has one theme option whereas I would prefer to have both light and dark theme options
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used CodeSignal to complete my coding challenge from KLA Tencor. The test also included some of the technical question from Angular.js, Node.js. After the test, I revisited the site to try the coding challenges to help with my interviews in the future.
amazing
What do you like best about the product?
I never knew i can give tests and short exams.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little walk through demo would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Talking DevOps quizzes
Best coding self teaching experience that you can find
What do you like best about the product?
The platform is intuitive and easy to use. The type of problems that you can find there fits every need, from begineer to experienced coders. The gaming-like experience tops everything.
The off-platform features that you have integrated in the past are great. The videos on facebook sharing the solutions for certain problems have filled the gap between intepreting a piece of code and understanding it as a whole.

What do you dislike about the product?
That sometimes I can't solve the problems or all the hidden test... but that's not on you guys.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use the platform to leave automated homework to my programing students.
Since I have done this, I’ve saved around 80% of the time that I invested on grading the homework! The downside for my students is that they don’t get the ‘why it didn’t work’ comment, I offer them the ‘kind-of-official solution’ and encourage them to compare it to their code and find themselves the ‘whys’, so the downside becomes a learning challenge for them.
Additionally, my students have a vast set of problems to practice their new knowledge, unfortunately, apathy and meeting the bare minimum gets the best of them. The reality is that the sky is the limit with all the content that you can use in CodeSignal.

If you need automated tools to test coding skills, or you are just looking to test, practice or improve your own skills, CodeSignal is a great, must-try tool for you.
Database and Python Programmer
What do you like best about the product?
Codesignal has a terrific interface, and the site is easy to use and navigate. For those who are new to Codesignal, it can be addictive, which is a good thing, I know that I improved as a programmer through extensively using this site, somewhat motivated by a free t-shirt, lol. There is a great choice of programming languages to use, plenty of problems of different difficulty levels to get started, and a good community of programmers who are regulars on this site. Codesignal is definitely a good site for learning, especially for newer programmers. Now, Codesignal is in the business of providing employers with another means of identifying IT talent. You can take a three problem, one hour test in The Test Center, and at the end of this test, you will receive a score and a description of your results. I have only taken the sample test and not the certified test, and I have no complaints whatsoever about the administering of such a test, the questions seem reasonable, and there is plenty of time. I would just like to see a greater pool of questions for the sample tests, as there are only a handful of questions, which is not enough to grab your interest. Also, I'd like to have some sort of indication as to whether a certified exam would likely benefit you.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Challenges section was always my favorite, as it presented brand new and often more difficult problems to solve on a daily basis. However, the Challenges section is now a shell of its former self, and the problems have ceased to be real challenges. I used to enjoy solving challenges that were not easily solved by the entire community. I understand, it is expensive to keep content fresh, but a failure to do so will result in old-timers like myself leaving the site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have become a better and faster problem solver by using CodeSignal. I have extensively practiced typical interview problems, competed in the Tournaments section to work on my speed, solved hundreds of challenges, and tinkered with new programming languages, simply because CodeSignal is fun to use.
Great increase of gradual difficulty
What do you like best about the product?
Great questions, ranging from simple to complex questions.
Great scope of contents.
Compiler works very well.
Intuitive and interesting questions

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the questions were misspelled
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
learning, discovering new scopes, and I as a beginner helped a lot to know what to use and when to use
Refreshingly different approach to coding practice and interview prepration
What do you like best about the product?
Codesignal had me intrigued from the moment I signed up. They've gamified the whole experience which makes an otherwise boring task of solving algorithmic problems (IMHO) really fun. With nicely divided sections of different problems that each take a different approach to coding, I can choose the type of problem I wish to solve. One section that I really enjoy is the 'Company Challenges' which are fun because the problems are similar to problems that the company is working on. This makes the problem a tad bit more interesting to solve.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not something that I dislike in particular but feel something that codesignal is lacking is the types of problems in the 'Company Challenges' and 'Arcade' sections. I feel introducing different types of problems in the two sections (eg. with more focus on design than solving using complex algorithms) would make solving problems much more interesting and with the way the whole experience is designed, codesignal is in the perfect position to do that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improving coding skills and knowledge about algorithms. I've also used it for interview prep and pair programming during an interview.
Great platform for developers to improve coding skills
What do you like best about the product?
I like the environment of the application, the user interface is very easy and understandable, interesting atmosphere. Daily challenges are great way to keep users return every day, and solve at least 1-2 tasks in a day.
What do you dislike about the product?
CodeSignal gives everything it designed for, but I don't know why I get the feeling that it could be even better. Maybe if there'll be some new interesting features, more powerful navigation systems. Also I would like to see more advanced filters when searching people or reviewing tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improving my developer skills, exploring new ways of solving different problems. As a self taught developer, while solving different problems in CodeSignal I had to deal with algorithms and data types, which I never dealt before.
Great choice for honing your programmin skills
What do you like best about the product?
That I can do it from anywhere if I have a web browser. Not need to install any software such as a source code editor or the SDk for the language(s) of your choice.
What do you dislike about the product?
The editing pane is not as full featured as I would like. Yes, it supports copy/cut/paste, delete line, and so forth. But there doesn't seem to be any way to search and replace text; I normally just copy the code into an editor, do my thang, and then post it back into codesignal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My job involves programming in Java. Until recently, my set of languages did not include Python 3. As I'm learning that learning that language, I find I can apply the knowledge to solve problems that other people dream up (not just me).
Great site for programming exercises and problems
What do you like best about the product?
- Great number of available languages
- Code golfing daily challenges
- Good company interview questions
- Good web-based code editor

What do you dislike about the product?
- Outside of checking the answers for correctness and code size, there could be some time and memory rankings to check the most efficient answers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are planning on using it for initial screening of candidates. Right now I'm using it on a personal basis.
