A clear no-nonsense experience

  • February 18, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A clean, no-surprises, no-nonsense UI

What I liked: The interviewer can choose a question in real-time (during the interview). It integrates very cleanly into CodeSignal's UI for the candidate -- as if the question was one of the practice problems (as opposed to the interviewer having to write the test cases as comments in the code editor).

The webcam feed is integrated right into the UI and is drag-droppable anywhere on the screen, so that's nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
No downsides.
Nothing to dislike.
It has everything you'd expect from a coding interview experience and no fluff.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CodeSignal, for me, as a candidate, is both to appear for interviews and for practice problems.

Good Platform for Technical Interview both for Companies and Candidates

  • February 18, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Good set of problems list
2. Problems sorted Easy to Hard
3. Topic-wise problems list
4. Free account creation
5. IDE has code auto-completion for free (best feature)
6. Point-based reward program upon solving a problem
7. Programmers can be added as friends
8. Good profile view
9. Challenge feature: Create a contest with problems for community or private
10. Interview practice section with all the relevant topics
What do you dislike about the product?
1. No community section for better interaction among programmers
2. No monthly/periodical contest system
3. Some features or feature names seem to be confusing from a traditional competitive programming platform
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As CodeSignal picked the most popular and most common problems for competitive programmers, I, as a programmer, am trying to solve those problems and sometimes resolving some problems which I solved before on other platforms.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I use CodeSignal to enhance my programming skills and improve technical interviews. If you are in the same boat as me, you can also find the platform helpful.

Similar to HackerRank, but not straight from Leetcode

  • February 17, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It usually starts off with 2 leetcode easy problems, followed by at least one medium and lastly either a medium or hard
But it progresses from easy to hard. One time in an interview, I only got 50% (scored both 1 and 2 sections, but partially got 3 and 4) and was still invited onto the onsite.
What do you dislike about the product?
The problems/questions that are asked are not directly from Leetcode, thus it's a little bit difficult to go back and see the answer. Also don't like how some of the testcases are hidden and it's hard to tell what input and output to expect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CodeSignal has helped companies filtered out all the bad applicants that can't code the basics. Thus tightening the competition, however it doesn't introduce the other concepts of programming which are like polymorphism, object oriented design, multithreaded ....
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very similar to HackerRank, but study your data structures and algorithms from Leetcode.

Supervised Importance is Essential

What do you like best about the product?
Proctoring is vital as we need to be sure the common ground is equal for all candidates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing in particular, but the color schemes could be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Algorithms
Just better skills

As expected

What do you like best about the product?
I think that CodeSignal is a somewhat fair test that effectively addresses questions of varying difficulty and content.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that CodeSignal is a necessary evil that companies are forced to use to sift through mountains of applications. Applicants can be much more impressive than whatt they may be able to show in a timed test enviornment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has helped me apply to many jobs.

Very intuitive and well explained.

What do you like best about the product?
The code editor is very well developed. The test cases integrated with the editor is good and works well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The console for code debug is a little hard to understand at first. I think there could be a cmd like to just one case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly, code problems using algorithms like list, graph, trees, etc.
