Nice dark UX, a bit slow

  • November 03, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It’s relatively simple to use. I like the dark UI
What do you dislike about the product?
While the dark UI is nice, I’m used to study on leetcode, so switching from the two is not easy. Could be nice to have a theme option that let you choose the “leetcode” UI/UX.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Interviews with Uber and other companies. Simply that.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I suggest to try it before do an interview on it

The autocomplete feature could be improved for a better user experience

Used codesignal for giving coding test for Robinhood

What do you like best about the product?
Easy and familiar environment of the portal. The portal is easy to use and self explanatory which helps alot for a new user. It is good to give one test for multiple companies which saves alot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no shortcut keys to Run or Submit the code. Having shortcuts make it easy to run a code which saves a lot of time. Also, it would be better if a user can give codeSignal test in every moth to increase the score.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving competitive coding questions on CodeSignal. It helped me stay calm and think clearly in a timely environment. CodeSignal helped me increase my coding skills and helped me learn how to solve problems calmly in a timely environment.

What do you like best about the product?
CodeSignal is an awesome product that covers the necessities of automated coding tests with a fair price tag. Configuration was very quick and the CodeSignal team is more than happy to help with that process. We ran into issues with our Lever integration and they were great partners in helping us figure things out.

CodeSignal also offers a lot more support in setting up a good interview flow. We haven't leveraged this yet within our organization, but it looks to be above what most competitors are offering.
What do you dislike about the product?
The task's UI could use a little bit of an update (some extra filters / views). It would also be great to be able to have an author solution per language.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used CodeSignal to greatly increase the volume of applicants that we were able to assess. Being able to assess applicants as they come in made sure that we were able to quickly move on good applicants and make their interview process smoother.

Easy candidate screening

  • August 31, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It has a very easy and intuitive UI when you are the one solving tests. Also when you are the reviewer it is really good how you can navigate throw the answers and grade them with a few clicks.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to notice that when you submit a response you can use it as "save" and come back later to update your answer. Also keyboard shortcuts should be showed as tooltip in the buttons they work so you Easly know that they exist.
As a test creator I would like to be able to select several tasks so one of them is randomly choosen to be displayed in the test regardless the type/compatibility of the tasks, also I would like to be able to select for example 10 different tasks and from that pool of 10 the test randomly shows 3 (n) of them.
When you export a test as pdf It is hard for me to difference between the text of the task and the answer that the user typed, and it would be a very nice to have to show the score in each task not only in the listing, and to add link to the corresponding page in the task list, just like an index.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to screening candidates so we don't waste time from Developers (who are the ones that review the skills of new candidates). Also we use custom tests to measure the level of our Developers so we can work on salary increases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You must at least give it a try, once you know it you will fall in love.

Good platform that needs transparency

  • August 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is quite smooth and has a nice look to it. Moreover, the questions are well framed and are supplemented by GIFs, which help in the understanding of the questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the metrics from the final report are not quite intuitive to understand and should be explained to a person prior to them taking an assessment. Transparency and lack of instructions is the only thing that the platform is missing, in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not applicable, since I have only used the platform once: for an assessment I took for one of the companies I had applied to.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very modern platform, which if fixes its shortcomings could be the best in its field.

Properly Arranged Coding Questions

  • August 28, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It could assess my coding skills properly. After getting a good score on it, I successfully get the opportunity for the next rounds of interviews.
What do you dislike about the product?
The total time given is a little bit tight. And some of the problems have a long description, which is not friendly to non-English speakers..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me get an interview with a company.

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Navigation in platform is very convenient and user friendly.
Fully functioning coding environment.
Quality and balance of questions are adequate
What do you dislike about the product?
Some questions could be worded better. Although it could be argued that that is part of assessment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Environment is suitable for fair assessing of skills. Interview process can be speeded up and candidates can be assessed better.

CodeSignal is a very easy to use tool for interviewing candidates.

  • August 27, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
CodeSignal has very well designed user interfaces and workflows which make it very easy to use. Further, I find that it has got a really good community of programmers who more than ready to help each other out, whenever needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
CodeSignal does not promote its product as much as it should do, considering having a great tool for hiring. Although most of the users on forums are quite helpful, some participants do make inappropriate comments. Therefore, I think content moderation of the forum needs to be improved to make sure users don't face any kind of harassment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CodeSignal is helping in finding new technically sound employees for the organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do not think over it, just use it!
