Smooth and User-friendly

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is user-friendly and the whole environment is smooth to use. I remember when I used CodeSignal during the interview its environment was extremely similar to the one I used for practice. It didn't take me any extra time to learn how to code in CodeSignal. This saved me time for any potential learning curve. I had more time to think about my coding problem and write up the solution.

What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to have an option to wrap everything into a class. I get used to writing up my solution in a class structure, using some private variables and functions. However, as far as I can remember, its starter code gave the main function. In order to access a "global" variable, I had to pass that variable by reference to every function in which I needed to use it. It's kind of not convenient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The "run" feature is good and the error messages given are informative.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very smooth to use. Trustworthy. You'll have a great experience.

    Computer Software

It was nice, but it’d be great if feedback mechanism is installed.

What do you dislike about the product?
After doing an assessment at Code Signal, there’s a tendency to expect some feedback from the company, which didn’t happen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CodeSignal helped me give an assesment for a Company

Immensely Smooth platform

  • May 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I had a smooth and a bug free experience during an online assessment which I was giving. The responsiveness and fluidness of the platform is way above when compared to other platforms. The code evaluation experience is flawless and allows you to concentrate on your tasks as the platform gives a hassle-free experience. Highly recommended from my side.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing as such, I feel the overall UX can be improved but still it is way better than other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was solving algorithmic problem using it and i realized that this platform is very beneficial for Coding assessment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Support provided by codesignal is very good.

The best platform I've come across for online coding assessments.

What do you like best about the product?
There are a lot of features I liked about CodeSignal. They are
1. Support to compile and run code in almost all industry standard languages
2. Autocompletion feature - makes the entire coding process really smooth and it does not feel like you're coding on a notepad
3. There are different view options and there is Dark Mode support, so it's very easy on the eyes, especially when you are coding for a long time
4. The different assessment tests - I think taking these assessments is a great way for any software developer to take their programming skills to the next level
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing that I've specifically disliked about CodeSignal, i think it's a great tool for software engineers to prepare for interviews as well as taking their coding skills to the next level
I think some nice to haves could be video explanations for certain hard problems. I've been using another platform called AlgoExpert and they have grouped problems with clear video explanations for all of them. I think it would help the programmers to refer to the solution if they are stuck with a very hard problem for a long time
Another thing that I'm not really a fan of is that a lot of the problems are locked, so you can't directly solve them like you can on other platforms
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A variety of problems that cover broad areas of computer science that include
Data Structures like - Graphs, Trees, Linked Lists, Queues, HashMaps, Arrays, Binary Trees, Binary Search Trees, Heaps, Priority Queues
Different Sorting and Searching Algorithms
The benefits I've realized are that I'm getting much better at these problems the more I solve them. So in that sense, the gamification of problems solving by means of arcades and badges is really helpful in CodeSignal.
In general, CodeSignal has made me improve my coding skills and become a better developer
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great platform if you want to take your coding skills to the next level and get better at interviewing
It's a really good platform for improving your skills on data structures and different searching as well as sorting algorithms

Excellent Experience with interesting Problems

  • May 18, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really liked the overall experience, right from the available practice material before taking the test, to the overall in-test experience. This test, had an added feature of a proctored test, which is really helpful to concentrate on questions. I really like the idea of having pictorial representation of what the question is.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though the test allowed me to use the web for syntax based lookups, I was reluctant to use it as my test was being recorded. this may have affected my approach to use certain functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving algorithms and Software Development based problems with CodeSignal. I think having hidden test cases helps to inturn develop a more robust code, understand requirements of the problem and developing it in a clean way.

Excellent Coding Challenge

  • May 18, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The questions were challenging and fun to attempt. None of the questions required any specialized knowledge.
What do you dislike about the product?
The time didn't seem enough to complete all the questions. Though the point of the test is to see how many questions you can complete in the minimum amount of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am not solving any problems with CodeSignal. The benefits are that the coding questions keep the mind sharp.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out. You won't be disappointed by the platform.
