Smooth and unique experience with reasonable coding problems

  • May 05, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best is that it is a very innovative way of testing coding capabilities and a very unique and smooth experience for test takers. The online editor and UI are also very pleasant. I also like the score sharing feature, which allows me to skip the technical phone interview round with some companies.
What do you dislike about the product?
No mention of grading criteria before the test
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a test taker, I find score sharing with multiple companies is pretty cool. I think it would save me a lot of time that would otherwise be spent on phone screens.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it is a very good tool to assess programming capabilities of potential candidates. It will also save you a lot of time by doing away with phone interviews, which usually require a considerable amount of commitment time and logistics wise.

Like all the other online assessments but better...

  • May 05, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the platform gives feedback (the score) at the end of the assessment
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it allowed for bigger time limit (ie. solution correct, but above time limit) for reduced points
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I did an online assessment for a company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As an interviewee, I was immediately familiar with the platform - no break in period needed.

User friendly platform with good support for various compilers

  • May 05, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The platform of the CodeSignal is very good. Everything is easily accessible with a simple button click. There is a feature to try custom test cases and specify what are we expecting. It gives an experience of writing test cases. The layout of showing questions in left and a big portion for coding makes it pleasing to the eye.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one thing which I disliked was that the code does not get saved in case you do not press submit. So in case you are stuck somewhere and decide to move to the next question the progress will be lost if you have not pressed submit
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving interview coding round questions on code signal. I realized that the platform is better than others in a lot of ways like user-friendliness and the way all sections are separated so that you can have look at the question, your written code, compiler's output all at the same time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is definitely worth considering once

Great place to practice before interview and to learn new languages

  • March 16, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like interview preparation materials. I like tournaments. I like Arcade - that's a great place to learn basics of new languages. I like the user experience of CodeSignal website. I also found a job through Code Signal and I enjoyed receiving a gift box from them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish CodeSignal had contests. Given how good their UI is, I would prefer them over other similar websites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CodeSignal helped to find better place to work.

The most appealing interviewing site I have ever experienced

  • February 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
the interviewing system, I like the option of recording the interview and get back to it again later, better practice.
What do you dislike about the product?
well, I don't actually dislike anything, it's useful... but I would recommend having more questions for interviewers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
practicing mock interviews with friends, and colleagues
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Code signals is the best tool out there, for interviewing and problem solving practice.
I use it with my colleagues to practice mock interviews. it allows you to record the interview - although only screen recording, they don't record your video call with the candidate. it would be awesome if they have added that feature- then you can come back to the interview anytime you want.
Tests-wise codesignals is so amazing... it allows you to share your test results with your trainer, and they can get a copy of your solutions. they can check that and send you the ratings on any other platform. it would be great if they added this feature as well.

Best Experience with Online tests using CodeSignal

  • February 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
CodeSignal has hand down the best UI in the market. The IDE is so catchy that once you get used to it, you will hate going to other websites. Google only has the IDE that comes closer to Its IDE in the font and style department. Also from preparedness point of view, the practice problems from arcade and daily challenges are very interesting to solve and are very insightful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dislike will be harsh. What I would have appreciated much are:
-> A bit less bright highlights. The highlights stands out very much in the IDE. e.g., If I am at an opening bracket in the IDE, the closing bracket should highlight, but not as much as to distract my attention.
-> A bit more humane compiler. When debugging, the compiler seems to be trying to help, but it should be trying hard:).
-> A bit less JavaScript heavy pages. It causes visible lagging in page load. Or maybe the images need to be converted to base 64, or too much external calls needs to be avoided.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If am doing single line programs using complex logic on CodeSignal. Alongside I am doing interview preparation. And I am glad that it's going in a good way. CodeSignal has helped me think fast and implement even faster and their nice segregation of questions into appropriate buckets makes life easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
CodeSignal is a good option to consider. But first go on for a trial and then evaluate according to your requirements. If you find it good enough, go for it.

I used CodeSignal for a coding challenge and had a positive experience.

  • February 22, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I liked the style of the code editor. I also enjoyed the formatting of the instruction text on the left, as it was not a monotone color, which often makes it difficult to tell the difference between sections when doing coding challenges.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can think of nothing particularly dislikable about CodeSignal, I would say it falls under the same standard of coding challenge format as HackerRank and other competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am mostly using CodeSignal for coding interviews, so I can't really speak to this in depth. However, I will now begin to use CodeSignal to prep for interviews. I think that CodeSignal has an advantage over LeetCode in that it has a better UI than LeetCode (better colors, graphics, etc.).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would say that this is a great tool to use to test the skills of potential interns/employees in the software industry, and I personally had a positive experience using this platform. I think that right now, most of my experience and knowledge of CodeSignal pertains to its use in coding challenges and less so in using the product as a way of prepping for interviews or use by an organization. I would say that CodeSignal should market more its use as an interview prep website, though this would be difficult due to the existing popularity of LeetCode and the community that exists there. There could possibly be room to undercut LeetCode if CodeSignal made a less expensive premium feature, as I feel that my biggest deterrent from getting Premium with LeetCode is high monthly cost that comes with it.

Very good.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that based on the language, there are suggestions for the function you're trying to write.
What do you dislike about the product?
None that I can think of. I enjoy using it for interviews and testing myself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has made me improve my technical interview skills and being able to vocalize my thoughts before coding.
