Reliable data protection partner with potential for improvement in the UI
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the extensive support from DataGuard, especially in the areas of data protection and ISO 27001 support, as well as in internal audit processes. The training videos and the templates for ISO are extremely helpful and contribute significantly to the efficiency of our compliance management processes. Particularly noteworthy is our IS 27001 consultant Stephan Trenker, who makes a great contribution with his expertise and support. Additionally, the initial setup process with DataGuard was very simple, which made the transition and implementation seamless. This, combined with its useful features, makes it very likely that I would easily recommend DataGuard with the highest rating of 10.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the DataGuard portal, I see great potential, but the current UI is not yet optimal for me. I would like a more intuitive navigation and a sleeker design.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use DataGuard as a central partner for data protection and information security, especially for managing ISO 27001 and internal audits. The training videos and templates significantly facilitate our processes.
Expert knowledge and complete solutions, but improvable
What do you like best about the product?
What I particularly appreciate about DataGuard is that the platform makes training videos directly available. I don't have to organize them separately. Everything is included in one package, which makes the processes very efficient. In addition, there are practical templates and samples for ISO and data protection. I can use these directly, which significantly eases and standardizes my workflows. Another important point is access to great experts. Here, I would especially like to highlight our ISO-27001 consultant Stephan Trenker positively. He is highly specialized and experienced. This allows me, as a small company, to tackle challenges that would be much more difficult for us alone.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is not state of the art and is somewhat difficult to use. It is not user-friendly enough, which could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use DataGuard for infosec and data protection, benefit from experienced experts, and find ready-to-use templates in a package for ISO and data protection policies.
Competent advice and helpful templates – DataGuard impresses across the board
What do you like best about the product?
We, as a medium-sized IT service provider, utilize data protection consulting services and the platform from DataGuard. We are very satisfied with the data protection consulting provided by Onur Turhan from DataGuard. Onur Turhan is very competent and practice-oriented. The response times to our inquiries were a maximum of 24 hours, so very fast. On the DataGuard platform, we found many helpful templates, for example, for balancing interests, data protection impact assessments, and for a deletion concept. These are also available in English, which is important for us.

What do you like best about the product?
The experts are quickly accessible and offer solutions promptly. The approach is straightforward and unbureaucratic. Overall, it is a well-thought-out system that enables the digital implementation of various management systems and standards like TISAX. Particularly noteworthy is the option to release guidelines and documents digitally. Additionally, we greatly appreciate the continuous and professional support from our direct contact at Dataguard. This way, we always maintain an overview and can work efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
A small note: Due to the continuous and agile development of the platform, changes in the system occur relatively frequently, which means that one has to constantly reorient themselves. For the future, it would be desirable if the academy were available not only in German and English but also in other languages. Since we have several locations in Eastern Europe, it is difficult to conduct the training through the portal exclusively in German or English there. For this reason, we are forced to resort to another IT training portal. An integration of Entra ID would also be very helpful, as users could then log in easily and transparently via SSO.

Excellent Consultant Support, but Onboarding and Information Consistency Need Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
What I find most helpful are the meetings with our consultant, Patrick Riha. Being able to schedule a meeting whenever I have questions or encounter problems, and then receive valuable advice, is extremely important to me. I also appreciate the policy templates, as they save time and make it unnecessary to create everything from the ground up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since I took over the certification project from a colleague who is no longer available, I have no insight into how the onboarding process was handled initially. Personally, I have found it quite challenging—and at times, I still do—to anticipate the complexity of the process and estimate how long each step in the pathway will take. The expectation that certification can be achieved in three months has created the impression among our management that it is a straightforward and easily attainable goal. I am constantly working to counter this perception and to help stakeholders understand that the process is far more complex and not merely a minor IT issue.
Dataguard offers a wealth of information, but I sometimes find myself overwhelmed by the variety of sources. Occasionally, the content in the knowledge center does not align with what is presented in the policy templates or the webinars, which can be confusing.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a small company without the resources to hire a dedicated information security expert. Some of our customers require us to obtain ISO 27001 certification. The employees handling this certification are doing so in addition to their regular duties, so it is crucial for us to make the process as efficient and time-saving as possible. Since none of us have previous experience with this, it is especially important that dataguard helps us save the time and resources we would otherwise need to spend on research.

We contacted several service providers for TISAX support in advance – with DataGuard, we had a very good feeling from the start. The approach is practical, structured, and goal-oriented. In retrospect, it has been a very good choice so far.

The platform is still in constant development – therefore, some functions do not yet seem completely smooth. However, it is clear that DataGuard is continuously working on it and the solution is steadily improving.

What do you like best about the product?
Particularly positive about the collaboration with DataGuard is the clear and quick communication, which remains professional and friendly even during stressful phases. I especially appreciate the solution-oriented approach – instead of just pointing out problems, DataGuard always brings in concrete and practical recommendations. Through the competent and structured support, we were able to pass the audit smoothly and successfully.

Only in the customization of some templates and the response time during particularly intense phases do I still see some potential for improvement – overall, however, at a very high level.

Complex legal requirements: Data protection laws like the GDPR are extensive and constantly changing. It is difficult to remain compliant at all times.

Integrated System with Excellent Support
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the integrated solution from DataGuard, which makes a complex topic like ISMS easy to understand and accessible. The introductory videos and clear steps helped me gain a good overview. The support, especially from Mirko, was always reliable and helpful. I find the system sophisticated and suitable for beginners.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the offered packages after the initial certification must remain attractive. For example, after the setup, the total cost (payable to Dataguard) for software, internal audit, and occasional consulting/audit support should be around a third of what was paid in year 1. This ratio would feel consistent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use DataGuard for setting up and managing an ISMS, which simplifies the overview and provides ease of work. It integrates complex topics efficiently and supports beginners in understanding. The support is first-class.
Helpful, jargon-free expertise
What do you like best about the product?
My consultant, Daniel B, was incredibly helpful and had many years of applicable experience that was directly relevant for our implementation. Our internal auditor, Yazid, was also understanding of our organisation's context and what security means for us, meaning that he was able to provide actionable advice on next steps

Some of the templated documents are overly complex, and some of the translations need tweaking, or make the document difficult to use particularly in Excel

Every specialist I’ve worked with from Dataguard has been highly professional, each bringing a unique consulting style and perspective. My recent internal audit with Daniel Buss was a great example. From the very beginning, Dan guided us through the entire process from audit planning to the final report with professionalism and clarity.

So far, I’ve been very satisfied with Dataguard’s services, both the product itself and the supporting consulting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dataguard is our main partner in supporting both ISO 27001 certification and the TISAX label. We use their platform to drive key parts of our ISMS, including employee security training through the Academy, security policy management, and the frameworks module with guided implementation paths. In addition, we rely on their consulting and internal audit services. We began working with Dataguard a couple of years ago and successfully moved from zero to certified in a short timeframe.
