Very ambitious but needs more work to be 100% reliable

  • October 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the Hubspot platform especially its learning centre, the customer service tends to be fast enough, although limited in what they can do for the customer. I like the design and the constant updates, so I have good hopes for this CMS
What do you dislike about the product?
Very limited SEO tools, no integration with add-ons like YOAST, which exists in e.g. Wordpress. The page builder is exhausting and buggy and plug-ins are not easy to distinguish, can't be categorised and can't be previewed, so you need a long time figuring out which one is the one you're looking for. Also GDPR options are not enough for EU customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall, it's a very ambitious project and it will be great once the above problems are fixed. The available templates and designs are professional-looking and attractive to the eye, relatively easy to customise, although quite often you need 3rd party intervention, as customisations need to be made on the HTML level.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's relatively easy to use and Hubspot's learning centre is probably the best in the market.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the user interface. It's easy to learn and very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little messy if you aren't used to CMS editing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using this for several clients (we work at an agency) and it makes all-in-one marketing tracking easier. You can easily track ROI.

HubSpot is great for managing customer data/interactions

  • October 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part of HubSpot is the ability to view a timeline of how my prospects and customers are interacting with my website and marketing. This data is tremendously valuable for guaging where a given contact is within our marketing funnel.
What do you dislike about the product?
The filtering system on HubSpot could be improved or more clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving problems related to discovering how our customers find us and what actions move them from Marketing Qualified Lead to Sales Qualified Lead.

So easy to use!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to create various assets and associate them with specific campaigns. The campaign data helps me to analyze what works well and what doesn't when it comes to generating brand awareness and influencing deals.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation should address complicated questions. Sometimes, I encounter support team members that aren't highly skilled.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saves me time in executing initiatives. I am able to tie initiatives to sales pipeline contributions.

Great software that supports all our day to day marketing operations

  • October 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Once the website is set up, the marketing team can easily manage all website related activities without having to rely on technical/admin support. Editing and creating website pages/blog posts is pretty smooth and intuitive and the SEO recommendations are useful in making sure that everything that goes live is optimised.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've seen a big difference in the output from developers that have worked with Hubspot CMS before and the ones that haven't. So when needing to have some work done like developing a new website it can be a bottleneck trying to find a developer or agency that is specialised in working with Hubspot CMS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a website and content management system that can be entirely owned by the marketing department without relying on developers.
Streamlined and improved efficiency regarding website A/B testing and publishing new content.

I'm a Digital Marketing Manager with 8 years of full-time experience in digital and web development.

What do you like best about the product?
HubSpot does the best job at connecting marketing, sales, and service. I've worked with multiple systems in the past and almost always had to close the loop between different systems by developing custom solutions. This is the first system to successfully do that under one hub, pun intended.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is almost always a trade-off no matter what tool(s) you decide to use. Since the system is built to make marketing, sales, and service super intuitive for most users, flexibility with some features is slightly compromised. Still worth it in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm constantly testing out different ways of accomplishing a goal. Problems include creating fancy layouts or behavior or tracking. It's all part of the game though so I find it enjoyable. The main benefit is having everybody on the team being comfortable enough 90% of the time in CMS Hub.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Keep being awesome!

Best in breed CMS

  • October 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Having worked with many CMS before, HubSpot has proved to be the most functional, expansive, intuitive, and robust platform I've worked on. There are so many features and the additional tools it connects to makes the CMS that much more powerful. Enough so that you can power your entire front office on their platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
HubSpot is always improving. Sometimes they make changes that take a little bit to learn and adjust your standard process. But usually results in a more complete user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have leveraged the CMS Hub to customize solutions for organizations in almost every vertical. From building beautiful inbound focused websites to global franchise website with hundreds of locations, to capitalizing on a digital approach for brick and mortar stores, there isn't really a type of website that HubSpot can't support. And if there is a particular functionality they can't, their API documentation allows them to leverage the power of 3rd parties for mutual benefit.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it! But understand that HubSpot can be an expensive web hosting platform is that's all you use it for. The real value of HubSpot comes from the various tools that enable entire organizations from sales to marketing to HR, to do what they need to do more efficiently. Don't be afraid to look for help in taming this expansive software as well. If you don't have the resources or expertise in-house, you're missing an opportunity to capitalize on an awesome tool.

Content management for website and digital marketing portfolio

  • October 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, recommendations to optimize pages for content and searchability. I have transferred 2 company's CMS from WordPress to HubSpot in my career.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some instances where if you don't know code well and are just looking at WYSIWYG things don't always appear they way you want and without a deeper understanding of code, you need technical support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Optimization hints make it really easy to setup each page, I know which pages and content are driving traffic.

Stable, versatile, reliable

  • October 15, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The CMS is a great system for seeing all your web, email and blog pages in one location. It is easy to create new pages, populate them with modules inside any templates you choose or build yourself, and effectively edit safely. It handles AMP pages for blogs, has great image and video support, as well as a complete stock photography section. The user interface is very clear, and you know where you are without confusion. The design manager has been recently revamped and includes great features to edit HTML, CSS and JS in your modules, if needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although everything is there, it lacks clear feedback as to whether changes have been made that need publishing. It also doesn't mention what those changes, if any, are. Each module you create is nested inside HubSpot's own HTML elements and none of them have easy-to-use ids or classes, making advanced page manipulation a chore, with workarounds required. You also cannot simply set a class to the page body element either. So those little things just slow you down. So advanced web designers might find it limiting. It does give you the chance to think out of the box though!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a marketing presence that could integrate landing pages and forms neatly into our back-end. We also run a blog so needed a clear way for the technical team and less technical staff to write and publish stories. We also use HubSpot pages to create widgets to aid staff and clients in the operation of our SaaS products. Having all of this in one place has been invaluable and really speeds our processes along.

What do you like best about the product?
As a marketer, I can easily create and edit website and landing pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
So flexibilty issues with 3rd party tools
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps with the ease of use of creating and publishing landing pages for events and other activities. Because of this, I have realized that our registrations have increased.
