What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how easy it makes cloud cost visibility. The dashboards are clear, and I can quickly see where money is going without digging through complicated reports. It saves time and helps me feel more in control of spending.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the setup and integrations can feel a bit tricky at first, and there’s a learning curve before everything clicks. Also, I wish there were more customization options in the reports to tailor them exactly to my needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finout helps me track and understand cloud costs across different services in one place. Before, it was hard to see where money was going, but now I get clear visibility and can spot waste quickly. This saves time, reduces surprises in billing, and makes budgeting much easier.

Unified cloud cost views have improved anomaly detection and enabled proactive budget control

  • January 14, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Our use case is integrating cloud costs from a multi-cloud estate to have one pane of glass for cost visibility. We use it for reports, but there's also other functionality that we've liked using, such as anomaly alerts, looking at the asset inventory, and setting budgets for different cloud accounts.

What is most valuable?

I like the virtual tags feature of Finout, which is like business mappings within Cloudability, which is one of their competitors. Virtual tags work really well because you can specify them without changing the configuration of cloud accounts directly. It's a filtering mechanism that's specifically within Finout and can be fully managed there.

It makes it easier to group cloud accounts into a specific bucket. For example, an engineering team might own five different cloud accounts. Rather than them having to change their code to tag them all to their team, we can instead use the virtual tags feature within Finout to have a layer of abstraction over the top. This makes it easier and allows us to manage it, rather than having to burden engineers to manage the tags of their own accounts.

Finout, being a FinOps tool, leads to cost reductions within cloud spend, which is great. By looking at how much cost is spent over time, you can then figure out different areas to reduce your cost and make it more efficient. We've definitely found that from our FinOps tool usage.

From using the cost anomaly feature, you can very quickly see when costs are getting out of control. We've used cost anomaly alerts in our FinOps tools to look for costs that are too high and then make sure that they can be reduced. There have been situations where costs get out of control, we use that feature, and then we're able to cut them down. By using that, you can definitely cut down anomalous costs by anywhere from twenty to fifty percent if you catch it quickly enough.

In terms of money saved, organizations could very easily save anywhere from ten to thirty percent of their cloud costs. That's through anomaly alerts, detecting costs that are getting too high and making sure that they're controlled, building out reports and dashboards to track costs and make them more efficient, and then potentially using the reservations and right sizing features to directly reduce cost.

What needs improvement?

The right sizing feature is okay. It could be used, but I feel its functionality isn't as strong as the cloud-native solutions, so GCP, AWS, and Azure. They all have better right sizing capabilities, so you probably wouldn't carry out right sizing from Finout. You'd want to do it directly in the cloud platforms.

The right sizing feature needs more development. Also, the reservations analysis feature isn't quite detailed enough as it should be. If you're making purchasing decisions based off of a cloud tool, it's probably better right now to do it directly through the cloud-native tooling rather than through Finout.

Those are the two features where I feel they could be improved. It's a great tool, but it does have those two areas of improvement in the right sizing and the reservation sections. If those sections were functioning very well and were very deep, then I would give it a ten out of ten.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used Finout over the last two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Finout is very stable. I've not noticed any issues with it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Finout is very scalable. If an organization had hundreds of cloud accounts or thousands, it would easily scale to that, so there would be no scalability issues.

How are customer service and support?

The people I've interacted with from Finout have been very helpful.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've used other cloud FinOps solutions before, for example, using GCP, AWS, and Azure's integrated FinOps tooling. Those have been good tools. The reason for using Finout is having all costs from different cloud providers into one platform is highly beneficial.

Finout was being compared directly against the cloud provider integrated tooling, so that's GCP, AWS, and Azure.

What about the implementation team?

Interactions have been directly with the vendor rather than through the marketplace.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend them to use it. It's a good tool. The company is still quite new and young, but they're rapidly developing, and their support is great.

The Finout team seemed like they could be flexible on the pricing, which is good. No complaints there. They were quite interested in securing new business while not overwhelming the customer with cost. Because they're a newer and smaller FinOps company, they're more interested in getting customers on board rather than charging high costs, which is good for customers. I would give this product a rating of nine out of ten.

Exceptional AWS Cost Management and Insightful Resource Optimization

  • January 08, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Finout is how convenient and detailed it is for managing AWS costs. Our primary use is with AWS, and the platform’s ability to separate and analyze resources by tags—even when those resources are within the same AWS account is incredibly helpful. This feature gives us a much finer level of cost granularity, making it much easier to pinpoint exactly where our spending is going.

Another major advantage is Finout’s capability to identify underutilized resources. The reports clearly highlight areas where resources are not being fully utilized, which enables us to gradually right-size them rather than making abrupt or risky changes. This method has allowed us to reduce unnecessary expenses and cut costs in a more controlled and efficient manner.

I use Finout quite often, setting alerts and notifications if a specific threshold is triggered for costs

In summary, excellent visibility into AWS costs and helps transform cost data into actionable insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
We find this product to be quite useful overall. However, the main drawback is that it cannot be deployed locally on an on-premise server.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The primary advantage of using Finout for us is having a centralized platform where we can easily view and manage costs across all our AWS accounts. Rather than switching between multiple accounts and tools, everything we need is accessible from a single dashboard, which saves us time and enhances our visibility.

Finout enables us to break down expenses by tags, even when resources are within the same account, providing us with detailed cost granularity. It also makes it simple to spot underutilized resources throughout our AWS environment. With this information, we have been able to gradually right-size our resources and eliminate unnecessary spending, leading to a significant reduction in our cloud costs—up to 40%.

Since Finout is a cloud-based service, there is no need for installation, and we rely on it daily to monitor our spending and make informed, data-driven decisions. Overall, it has become an indispensable tool for managing AWS costs and optimizing how we use our resources.

What do you like best about the product?
Finout provides a clear and detailed view of cloud costs, making it easy to track expenses across different services and teams. I really like how customizable the dashboards are and how straightforward it is to allocate costs by project or department. The integrations with multiple platforms save a lot of manual work, and the real-time visibility helps us make smarter decisions quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Finout is very useful, it can take some time to fully configure for specific business needs, especially for complex infrastructures. The platform could benefit from even more automation features and predictive insights to proactively flag anomalies. Occasionally, some reports load slower than expected when handling very large datasets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Finout is helping us get control and visibility over our cloud costs, which used to be scattered across different platforms and hard to track. It solves the problem of understanding exactly where money is being spent, down to the team and service level, which has made cost allocation much more accurate. This has allowed us to cut unnecessary expenses, forecast budgets with more confidence, and hold teams accountable for their usage.

Excellent cost visibility tool with room for query builder improvement

  • July 17, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Finout consistently delivers outstanding results and comprehensive visibility into cost changes, which is invaluable for tracking and understanding our infrastructure spending. As a software engineer, I appreciate how it provides clear insights into cost fluctuations and helps identify optimization opportunities. The visibility it offers into cost trends and changes is exceptional and has become an essential part of our cost management workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main challenge I encountered was with the query builder interface. Building queries can be somewhat cumbersome due to the extensive lists of filters and the numerous fields and attributes available for filtering. While the abundance of options provides flexibility, it can make the process feel overwhelming and time-consuming, especially when trying to construct complex queries quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I'm implementing performance improvements or cost optimization initiatives, Finout is my go-to tool for quantifying the actual monetary effects. Whether I'm adding extra infrastructure to boost performance or implementing cost-saving measures, Finout allows me to track exactly how much we're spending on the additional resources or how much we're saving from optimizations.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Not only does this software conform to our very complex multi-cloud environment and private pricing agreements, it is a tool that was quickly and widely embraced by our engineering and business leadership teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to some of our complex and detailed reporting requirements not all features can currently support our data export requirements. Fortunately, the Finout team has taken our feedback seriously and is implementing changes to a future platform release and was willing to manually assist with exporting the data we require until the feature release.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Greater visibility into our multi-cloud environments and a superior user experience that has generated internal excitement and participation from other personas within the organization.

Powerful FinOps Visibility Without the Learning Curve

  • June 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Finout makes it really easy to get started with cloud cost management. The interface is clean, simple, and doesn’t require a ton of setup or training—our team was up and running quickly. It’s super intuitive, which means not just the FinOps team but also engineers and finance folks can jump in and start using it without much hand-holding. The tool connects easily to cloud providers and other services, and it’s fast to show real value.

It’s also gaining real traction in the market. More and more teams are picking up Finout because it helps break down complex cloud spend into something much more understandable. Features like business mapping and unit economics are super helpful if you want to tie cloud costs to actual outcomes. Plus, the company moves quickly, rolling out new features and updates based on what customers are asking for.
What do you dislike about the product?
Finout’s still growing. If you have really specific needs—like complex custom reports or deep API integrations—you might run into some limitations. Some features you'd expect in more mature enterprise tools (like advanced user permissions or deeper automation) are still catching up. And since they ship updates often, things can change fast, which sometimes means the UI looks a little different than you remembered. Nothing major, but something to be aware of.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It gives us clear, centralized visibility into cloud and SaaS spend across multiple providers. This was something that was previously fragmented and time-consuming to piece together. Before Finout, pulling cost insights meant jumping between different dashboards, normalizing data, and often relying on engineering support or legacy systems. Now, we can quickly see where costs are going, and spot anomalies without a lot of manual work. It’s also helped with faster decision-making. Because it’s easy to use and doesn’t require deep technical skills, stakeholders across finance, engineering, and sourcing can all engage with the data directly. That’s reduced back-and-forth and made it easier to align on budget conversations, savings opportunities, and contract strategy.

    Transportation/Trucking/Railroad

Hyper-flexible cloud cost insights with strong governance features

  • May 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Finout provides a responsive and interactive cost exploration experience, which provides a strong foundation for expansive feature set. We're heavily leveraging its shared cost functionality which allows us to chargeback and allocate previously opaque platform-level costs to teams across our organization - functionality which no other vendor provides. Its virtual tagging system provides a level of flexibility and customization which allows us to abstract away complexity to our end-users. Additionally, its custom cost functionality gives us the flexibility to add any 3rd party vendor and view costs side by side with supported cloud providers, this mitigates the need for us to wait for Finout to add specific integrations with every vendor we need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Finout can be quite complex at times, which is fine for experience users, but for end-users such as engineers which may not be as familiar with the product, it can be overwhelming. The good news is that Finout is actively improving this with features such as simplified filters.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring our cloud costs across many providers. Providing team-level visibility across a team's cloud spend, down to a high-level of detail (such as cost of an analytics event). Provides anomaly alerting functionality which reduces our time to detection of spend anomalies, ultimately saving money. Also provides budgeting functionality.

What do you like best about the product?
Finout has become an essential part of our FinOps process. It lets us break down cloud costs not just by service or spend type but also by how we organize things—teams, departments, services. The interface is intuitive, the implementation was smooth, and the support team is responsive and open to feedback. We can now clearly measure how changes in product or infrastructure impact spending, which has helped us identify many optimization opportunities and track their actual effect.
What do you dislike about the product?
The CostGuard Rightsizing feature could be more accurate, especially when it comes to estimating savings and showing Kubernetes resource usage details. That said, based on how quickly they’ve acted on our input before, we’re confident improvements are on the way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Implementing FinOps in our org. Cost observability and cost optimisation.
