Monitoring how your platform works in production
What do you like best about the product?
What I have used the most are the synthetic monitoring tests which turned out to be quite helpful to detect issues in production.
What do you dislike about the product?
It turns out hard to tickle the synthetic tests after being recorded with the browser plugin
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to detect faults and outages in production.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get some information from people who have already use the tool and ask for possible problems faced in the use of it. The more tricks you get the better. Also try to use the tool in your whole stack rather than only in some of the components you have deployed. This way you will benefit from the use of the correlation.
Also finding some videos can be useful to get to know if the tool can help you in the process of improving your product or platform.
I personally have not looked for digital courses in edx, coursera or udemy, having tthat might be quite helpful as well.

Oneagent automaticallt detects everything and AI helps finding root cause

Reporting and no way to export problems to pdf or some other format

Mostly problems are related to 3rd party services and its hard to diagnoze in time frame. Dynatrace helps detect the problem and accelerate the processes

To have an overall vision of our platform and to speed up our resolution center.
Toolset to unlock the digital transformation
What do you like best about the product?
Digital transformation is mostly a customer back exercise, using Dynatrace we are capable capture insights from our customers, find out key pain point areas and start the digital transformation in the key areas. Using Dynatrace we are capable to deliver digital transformation using fact data from Dynatrace.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing model has been improved, from licensing to pay per model which is more flexible depending on the use case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Auto discovery complex infrastructure for the overall complexity reduction projects, is a key element to ensure our service delivery using hard data that supports our recommendations. Also the user digital experience monitoring is a must for the digital transformation, putting our customer needs and experience.

The Dynatrace API and the use to share the same link and root cause for problem detection througth all my teams members

Microservice monitoring and profiling
Gives great insight but requires cultural shift to use it proactively
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to install. Gives visibility of your whole platform and how it interacts together. Discovers issues you didn’t know existed.

Difficult to get to the bottom of an issue as there are so many layers to drill into.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Awareness of issues before and after they occur so we can be proactive as well as reactive.

The detailed information and powerfull dashboarding, alerting

We still work with AppMon and the complexity is high and not easy accesible. On Dynatrace I have no dislikes

Direct info on usage of services and applications is a great benefit. We also ended a discussion with a software supplier who kept saying the problem was in the infra but in fact it was in the software.

Don’t hesitate, just start using it

Quality of code. Application architecture. Optimize sizing.

If your application is complex and using modern frameworks and technology, Dynatrace may certainly be the way to go.
