Instana best APM for DEVOPS and SRE teams
What do you like best about the product?
Instana provides excellent infrastructure and application visibility for SRE, DEVOPS, and DEV teams. The tool is easy to use and understand for troubleshooting analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the aspects that most fascinated me is being able to do the trace from the user's browser to all the application layers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to monitor multiple Kubernetes clusters on a single screen, providing a fantastic operational view.

What do you like best about the product?
Instana agent that helped us to create an alert and event with a threshold and we integrated with slack for notifications, it helps us a lot with our organization mainly when the server is down we get an alert using this tool and we can also create website alerts. It is fast and easy to use too
What do you dislike about the product?
Pentaho tracking is not possible on instana it will be much easier when all the services in our organisation is monitor under a single tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were met with a lot of uncertainty when building application perspective at the beginning. After that when we asked for the support they supported us in a session, it made us understandable.

- On-prem use, very good support during implementation (workshops)
- Simple, intuitive installation (Linux skills required)
- Feature requests very often find their way into the finished product
- Support always reacts quickly and delivers competent solutions
- Extensive monitoring of a wide variety of technologies without great administrative effort
- Provides a detailed overview of the system landscape
- Alerting possible via various channels (email, Slack, Opsgenie, ...)
- Simple, intuitive installation (Linux skills required)
- Feature requests very often find their way into the finished product

What do you like best about the product?
There is not much configuration that needs to be done compared as opposed to classic monitoring tools. We also value the detailed analytics and tracing possibilities that Instana provides for our Java application.
What do you dislike about the product?
Monitoring our .NET and .NET core applications running on Windows is not working quite as smoothly compared to the Java on Linux world.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Decrease the effort on configuring and tuning the monitoring system while having the possibility to gain insights into our application performance.

There are so many thing detected automaticly that you focus more on put things together instead to get it running.

It's a really awesome tool, It's easy to get it running into your infrastructure and their automatic correlation between the different "layers" (application to infrastructure) is really great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have been using it for a few months and so far I'm really happy with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using it to handle several different "solutions" running into the same infrastructure, and the Instana team have been really supportive to understand the different scenarios and to suggest the right approach in each one of them.
Very good product, developers and customer support are fast to help, deep and helpful functions

Some small functions are missing (e.g. Usermanagement for different tenants), but are well accepted if complained and reviewed/patched!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Productive outages of our enviroments, user joures and how to make them better. Faster way of finding bugs and errors without have to access the hosts themselfs
There are lot's of APM tools around, but I like the way Instana is working with the customer

What do you dislike about the product?
- using Instana for a classic 24/7 On Call Duty isn't the best way. They're doing very well, but it's still an APM tool. You can do it, but it's not the best way for classic infrastructures.
- long time of stability and reliability issues, but they're gone (it has been really worked hard on it)
- sometimes old features get less attention and fail in work during updates of new ones

- find performance issues like slow response times even quicker

infrastructure of Instana still not settled. Many errors in the logs, difficult to decide what is important and what not. difficult to manage
