Jamf has been invaluable in managing our Apple Devices
What do you like best about the product?
In our organization, we use Jamf Cloud and I love that it's accessible no matter where I am. I'm not tied to my company network to be able to access the tools and resources I need. I like the ease of use and quick responses when sending commands to devices or trying to install software. It helps my company bring the Apple devices that we use under one management system and allows us to provide the software and workflows for all of our Apple users. I love that we can provide a portal of software to choose from using the Self Service portal and people can choose what software they need when they need it. I feel that our organization is better off being able to provide standard setups and software and Jamf is able to help us do that.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that with the licensing costs and setup, Jamf may be cost prohibitive for some smaller companies. I am under the impression that Jamf is more effective when managing larger numbers of devices and some companies may not be able to use it because of cost considerations. I personally haven't used other competitors, so I can't speak to the comparisons between Jamf Pro and other MDM's, but Jamf might not be a good fit for everyone depending on the organization.
Specifically with Jamf Pro features, it lacks the ability to schedule actions as far as I can tell. There are ways to schedule policy updates and installation settings, but I'd like the ability to select a certain task such as upgrading iPadOS and have the ability to schedule when the action takes place.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization had hundreds of Apple devices that had no management backend at all. Users were free to set up and use their devices at will and there was no management whatsoever. The biggest issue we had was with setups and rollouts of devices and also with large numbers of devices that would need to be set up. Last year, I was in charge of setting up about 100 iPads to run a specific app. Luckily, I was able to utilize Jamf Pro to configure the iPads and push the configuration profile to each one without having to manually set them up one by one. Jamf Pro saved me hours of time.
Excellent support, great company, well designed product that is extensible.
What do you like best about the product?
The Jamf implementation team is exceptional. The Jamf Pro product is best in class while being able to accommodate further via API.
What do you dislike about the product?
Distributed administration via Jamf Site functionality and patch management could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro solves the problem of managing Apple devices at scale, as Apple wants you to manage their devices.
JamfPro allows simplification of many complex tasks involved in managing devices.
What do you like best about the product?
JamfPro allows a quick and easy method to track what is where and what is on which device. Groupings are very useful and advanced searches are quick and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Constantly having to return to a main menu after editing instead of returning to a sub-menu is tiresome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a school and JamfPro allows us to manage who has access to what apps, info, and security features.
Really good for Mac administration
What do you like best about the product?
Truly versatile management of Mac computers
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lot to be desired when it comes to management of iOS/iPad devices
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a really good versatile handling of our Macs today!
I love the access & abilities to help support our clients with their devices
What do you like best about the product?
I love the web UI & macOS apps. I love being able to use Self Service to its full capabilities. I love the device/computer insight & details that are provided. Features, like Extension Attributes, are great because they can be customized and are great for creating a Jamf Pro Dashboard to my specifications with Smart Groups and Policies.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the webpage were more mobile-friendly (specifically for iPad air) I usually have issues when trying to change menu items when examining a singular device/mobile
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing macOS, iPadOS, and tvOS easily from a web UI and providing an app that gives IT direct support with application installs & scripts to manage the devices. Jamf Pro also provides a great web UI for view on a device's data in an easy and sleek design.
Love

Jamf is amazing. The Support from Jamf Pro is outstanding with helping me with my issue and going above and beyond. The customization that you can do is perfect.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont have really any negatives. The System is great. Support is great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf is solving our mac management system. It has made helpful to easily manage the laptops. I had never used Jamf before and i hsve learned alot on my own. The system makes it easy after some time to understand how it works!
In the 4 years ive bee working with Jamf and theyve been amazing at every turn!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create your own content instead of just using 3rd party apps
What do you dislike about the product?
The content filter is a little lackluster, sorry
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smart groups and their ability to be manipulated to more than a few object variables
Jamf provides all the keys for end-to-end Mac administration and management
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf has an excellent support team and is regularly implementing great new features as a result of user demand.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some things that other MDMs allow to be managed easily that Jamf requires more complex solutions (e.g. a script) to manage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf allows us to secure our Mac environment and feel confident in deploying these workstations to our users around the world.
Helps keep our Macs useable.
What do you like best about the product?
Remote access to devices, installing software and keeping systems up to date. Giving users the ability to install their own software and printers through Self Service.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a good system for updating MacOs. Computers periodically drop communication with Jamf and no way to revive them except to touch them. I don't like the fact that I don't have control over Configuration profiles, no way to force them to install. Some take days and others never install at all. I'd rather push software than wait for the device to ask for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping a good hardware inventory of all of our macs. Keeping macos and applications up to date. Give users the ability to install software and printers via Self Service. Otherwise we would have to increase our staff to deal with it.
Great, but with a steep learning curve.
What do you like best about the product?
Ability. It has great ability, but can be tough to wrangle.
What do you dislike about the product?
The wrangling requires oodles of training or time spent mucking about and breaking stuff.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves how to properly manage 1000 devices. It does this well, as long as you have a clear idea of what you want.
