Sage Intacct Review
What do you like best about the product?
Continues to be reliable for me. It has more features than what I can use. The most important thing for me continues to be that reports can be run with about 10 different dimensions. This allows me to slice and dice data to create reports that I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Continue the great work of adding new features. Never know when I may need to use it one day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reports can be run with about 10 different dimensions. This allows users to slice and dice data to create reports that users need. I can run reports by account, class, area, restriction, source, project, vendor, type, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sage Intacct is massive and has a lot of features. Because of that, we hired some consultants to help us with the implementation. It took about six months from start to finish. And this included the COVID-19 pandemic during the last month or two of the implementation. Sage Intacct can be customized to your specific needs. Make sure that the consultants and you go over EXACTLY what your specific needs are. And it would be great if the consultants can anticipate what your specific needs are based on the back-and-forth questioning. You may find it difficult to articulate the exact thing that you want from a new accounting software. Another useful thing is to watch the training session videos and take a test drive in the sandbox.

What do you like best about the product?
Sage Intacct provides the perfect solution for companies' financial reporting needs. In today's day and age, a reporting solution in the cloud provides speed and convenience compared to older solutions. Intacct consistently releases updates every quarter and constantly improves the experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Intacct is a great solution for our company however it does suffer from things like the speed at times to view reports and posting items.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned, Intacct provides a great solution for financial reporting. Easy to work with as a cloud software.
Best Software for Accounting it does things at ease
What do you like best about the product?
It is cloud based application which works realtime. The data consolidation is Easy and dashboards are very well designed to know the realtime status of the financials. Unlike earlier days we had to wait till the month end to have clarity on the data and status of the company accounts.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dont have anything to dislike. But I would look forward to a version which is macro enabled so that data input can be easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The data analytics is real time which is very good part of Sage Intacct, plus it can work for any type of Business very proactive.

It is very user friendly software
A lot faster than Accpac, but finicky FX

Preparing payments is much faster than other systems I've used
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I'm not able to put two FX rates in A/P Bills. You should be able to put one rate for the credit to A/P and then any other rate you want for the debit to expense. This means that you cannot put an average rate for a debit to expense when it's a service that is expensed at a monthly average, and then put a spot rate for the date of the invoice. The system would then automatically plug to RG(L). I also do not like that when I run a GL detail it will not give me the base currency columns. I have to manually calculate base currency balances. I need to rely on how the balances were originally imported into the system. I need to know what the original base currency balance was and keep track of that month to month, so that I can figure out what the current base currency balance is, so that I know what the monthly unrealized gain and loss is. Accpac handled this really well, so it is disappointing that a newer Sage system isn't on par with an older Sage system in every respect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think the main benefit the team has experienced from Intacct, is that with the cloud based structure we are able to extend the accounting system into users homes, so that they are able to work from home in a more efficient manner than we had with Accpac. Also, I don't have much familiarity with the report writing features, but I hear from our controllers that this is much more robust.

What do you like best about the product?
I'm a current user of Intacct. I find it intuitive, and clearly an upgrade from QBO. If you've graduated from QBO, and I think you'll know when you're bumping up against its limitations, Intacct is a strong option. They're constantly improving it, and my transition from a 3-time veteran of Quickbooks wasn't difficult.
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had to name a weakness, it's one that isn't necessarily directly Intacct's fault: We had a bad integration partner. They did a horrendous job, which necessitated a lot of clean-up (I joined the company a few months after they finished). In a sense, no matter how good Intacct is, if you have a bad integration (as with any similar solution), you'll have to fix the problems. That reminds me that I should see if Intacct dings partners who do a bad job. This other company shouldn't come close to another integration.
Bad integration aside, if I could change one thing, I wish there was a standard dashboard and perhaps a wizard that could make enhancing the dashboards more guided.

We moved to Intacct because we are multi-entity.

Invest in an outstanding integrator. You skimp here, you will pay big time in the end.
Great software
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Intacct is very intuitive and quick to learn. It is very easy to use and I like all of the reporting features. I also like that you can favorite certain pages that you most frequent. Another thing I would like to take advantage of is the customizable dashboard which can be very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I cannot find things as quickly as I would like, such as certain reports. I also do not like the way some of the items are shown, for example, when I want to see a payment, I have to click on so many tabs to just view what invoice was applied to. Also, when you run the Customer Aging Report, it does not show you certain items . I also wish that the customizeable reports were more user friendly. I have found that it is very confusing and not very intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has helped with reconciling the bank account and certain reporting functions. I have realized that this software is much better than other software i have used in the past such as Qucikbooks.

Think about what type of reporting you want to use and how detailed. What types of things you will be doing on a daily basis.

We implement Intacct for mid-sized firms that need robust reporting. It's great to use for accountants, and provides robust tools for reporting.
Great enterprise accounting solution, but lacking for users outside of United States.
What do you like best about the product?
I really liked how it was able to do accounting for us on the internet, we didnt even need to use ledger books with pencils anymore. We used Intacct to enhance our accounting for foreign exchange, where the Group had a statutory obligation to report in AUD, but was operating subsidiaries in the United States, United Kingdom as well as Australia. The application that was able to enable the group to create a whole suite of reports for Group reporting for a global business was also easily achieved. Purchasing approvals are also a great function for organisations. We found revenue recognition was very helpful for long-dated sales contracts, as revenues would be automatically recorded each month.
What do you dislike about the product?
For me what I disliked was the cost of the product, its lack of GST support and how difficult it was to get anyone on the phone to help when something broke. In addition to that I'd like to add that the lack of native VAT/GST reporting really let this product down. Avalara is the preferred 3rd party application to handle this, but adds additional expense. Lack of general ledger detail when drilling down into consolidated reports while only a minor problem, was very annoying. Bank feeds for many banks outside of the United States also lack support. Normally this is not a problem if you can simply import the transactions using a CSV template, but the templates provided by Intacct are hard to use and are difficult to trouble-shoot when there are errors after being uploaded. The base licence cost may prove to be prohibitive for most small to medium sized organizations, as this was ultimately the reason why we decided to change accounting systems. Account management was very light-touch, with Intacct representatives preferring to refer you to their online community rather than engaging on a call, unless subscription renewal was approaching.

We were able to solve so many problems, its really great. Intacct helped our organisation move away from manually consolidated the Group's financials each month. Removing many headaches in the process. The way foreign currency is handled is also very useful. The report writer functionality is also excellent, we were able to write customer reports which were subsequently integrated into our reporting dashboards.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Intacct would be high on my list of enterprise grade accounting software packages. It is particularly great if your business only operates within the United States.
