The best control panel for managing servers and hosting
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Plesk for 15 years, starting from the early versions, and it has always been a reliable ally. Over the years, it has evolved alongside technology and has allowed me to optimize the management of my servers (Windows Server) and hosting.
It enables me to automate many recurring tasks such as backups and, today, it is compatible with major storage providers .
What do you dislike about the product?
It lacks a wide selection of plugins and falls short in terms of security features. A more advanced software firewall would be ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Plesk is helping me simplify and centralize server and hosting management. It reduces the time spent on repetitive tasks such as creating accounts, managing domains, and scheduling backups.
Cancelling subscriptions has caused ongoing billing issues while integrated design has helped with deployment
What is our primary use case?
I used the product for tailored web application and WordPress hosting.
How has it helped my organization?
Initially, the integrated licensing was convenient. However, when I cancelled the subscription to transition to our own infrastructure, the subscription continued to bill us. The servers were kept online to allow a transition period and to ensure everything was functioning smoothly before removing the existing servers. During this time, I expected the licensing to automatically expire with the cancellation of the subscription. I later found out that billing would continue, and when I reached out to Amazon Web Services (AWS), I was told this is expected. The only way to stop it is to terminate the server. In other words, why allow the subscription to be cancelled if billing continues? When cancelling licenses purchased directly via Plesk, a cancellation will expire regardless of the server’s status.
What is most valuable?
The integrated design has been a benefit.
What needs improvement?
When a subscription is cancelled, the license should not continue regardless of the server state. If continued access is needed, users should purchase a monthly or alternative option directly via Plesk or another provider.
For how long have I used the solution?
I used the solution for almost two years.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I did not use any previous solutions.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Make sure it's a good fit, and make sure to plan on terminating servers in tandem with subscriptions to avoid additional billing.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have used alternate solutions.
What other advice do I have?
What began as a pleasant experience has become frustrating due to extended billing and no responsibility taken to correct or prevent this from happening again. Responsibility is placed on the end user, with complexity between reaching out to AWS and Plesk. Even sharing this experience is met with the response that it is expected. If it is expected, then why allow the subscription to be cancelled? As we scale up, this is certainly not a good solution, which is why we have moved away from AWS. Flexibility was a key benefit; however, the experience has been poor overall, and the performance has degraded.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Hosting control panel
What do you like best about the product?
I’ve been working with Plesk for server management across multiple client projects, and while it’s established itself as a major player in the hosting control panel space, the experience has been mixed at best.
Its unified dashboard handles site deployment, security configurations, database administration, and SSL management efficiently. The interface simplifies complex server tasks through intuitive controls, making it accessible even for less technical users.
Centralized management works consistently across server environments, allowing unified control over domains, applications, and security protocols without switching interfaces. The automation capabilities handle tasks like one-click WordPress deployments and bulk SSL installations reliably, reducing manual configuration time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing structure becomes prohibitive at scale, with annual increases and premium extensions significantly raising costs.
Resource management struggles on lower-tier servers, occasionally causing performance bottlenecks during peak loads.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Consolidating server management tasks into a single platform eliminated our need for fragmented tools, reducing administrative overhead.
The standardized interface accelerated onboarding for junior IT staff while maintaining enterprise-grade security protocols. However, budget constraints emerged as the primary operational hurdle due to unpredictable licensing costs.
Plesk Administrator
What do you like best about the product?
It allows me to manage multiple sites, applications, security, and performance from one dashboard—whether on Linux or Windows.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Plesk offers a lot of features, the cost can add up—especially when you scale or need premium extensions. It’s not the most budget-friendly option for small projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Plesk consolidates everything into a single, user-friendly interface. This simplifies routine tasks like deploying websites, creating databases, managing DNS, and installing SSL certificates—all from one place.
Plesk: The best server management platform for Linux
What do you like best about the product?
I've used a lot of web services in my career but Plesk is a platform that I am not going to let go. Managing hundreds on website instances, configuring servers, generating backups and updating WordPress plugins have never been so easy. It's centralized, secured in the cloud and reliable at all times. Best, we could install our Plesk server within minutes be it with IONOS Cloud or Google Cloud. Customer support is knowledgeable, kind and professional all the way. While we use Plesk daily, our major updrades are quarterly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many of the add-ons are costly and it would be appreciated if a subscription package could be made available to get access to all of them at an affordable price.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing multiple websites seamlessly.
Smooth Install / Provisioning / Licensing
Nice experience for overall setup, along with some pre-configured network ports and storage. Provides a consistent base to spin up testing scenarios and tailor towards a desired production setup.
