What do you like best about the product?
The advanced simulation of Simcenter 3D improves our research abilities, enhancing faculty and graduate students to solve complex engineering problems in various fields. It encourages collaboration between different departments and for our online students. Additionally, using Simcenter 3D gives our students practical experiences, making them more competitive in the job market after graduation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software's deatailed simulations need a lot of computing power, which puts a strain on our current IT setup and requires expensive upgrades to our high-performance computing facilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It lets us model and test designs virtually, saving time and resources while giving us better insights into how products perform. It helps students to build their skills and makes them more competitive when they graduate.

Best collaborative tool for 3d

  • August 24, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simcenter 3D has very robust multi-physics simulation capabilities that help tame complex engineering tasks. It is also well integrated with Siemens PLM, improving efficiency and cross-team collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is archaic, somehow, and a little troubling for new users to get through. The learning curve is also steep, and it's pretty pricey in terms of licensing costs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Well, the key role of Simcenter 3D is in the area of simulation and validation of designs, mostly in complex structural and thermal analysis, to ensure products meet up with standards of performance and reliability before going into production.

Balancing Power and Practicality with Simcenter 3D

  • August 23, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really value the wide range of simulation tools it offers, letting us perform everything from structural mechanics to fluid dynamics analyses in one place. Its integration with our existing CAD systems has made our workflow much smoother, cutting down the time needed for model prepartion.
What do you dislike about the product?
The demanding computational needs for complex simulations have put a strain on our lab's IT systems, forcing us to invest in expensive hardware updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has helped our research team by making it possible to run complex multiphysics simulations that we couldn't do before or had to use several differnt programs for.

Simulate and Validate product performance by Simcenter 3D

  • August 22, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simcenter 3D is easy to pick up, especially if you’re already familiar with Siemens NX. It integrates smoothly with existing tools and workflows, which means you can start using it without much hassle. The platform is packed with features that work well whether you're just getting started or you're a pro, with simple guided workflows and more advanced options when you need them. Setting it up is pretty straightforward, especially if your company is already using other Siemens software. The customer support is solid, with quick responses and plenty of helpful resources online. You’ll find yourself using it often because it handles a wide range of simulations and makes even complex tasks more manageable.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few drawbacks. The learning curve can be steep for beginners, especially if you're not already familiar with Siemens products like NX. The software is also resource-intensive, so you need a strong hardware setup to run complex simulations smoothly, which can be a limitation for some users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It reduced physical prototyping for me as we can simulate it simcenter 3D softeare. I worked for fluid dynamics so it was very benificial for me that time to reduce my extra efforts of making a physical prototype and testing it.

One of the standout features is its integration with other tools in the Siemens ecosystem. It makes the transition from CAD to simulation smooth, which has significantly reduced the time from concept to validation.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a bit complex software with a steep learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The learning curve is a little steep, especially for those new to advanced simulation software, but the comprehensive support and resources provided by Siemens help ease that transition. Once you get the hang of it, the productivity gains are undeniable.
Overall I really loved the live preview feature wheer you can simultaneously have better understanding of your settings.
