  • June 25, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the gui is user friendly, theres alot about datadog that is easy to use. The search bar is pretty helpful when looking fro items, theres alot that can br brought into datadog. New features always available
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation on setting things up i feel like is a little hard to understand. Sometomes we figure out that we need an upgrade to use the next feature but the docs dont necessarily say that. Theres alot that chnages from one version to the next it would be nice for there to be a guide
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We integrate with third parties and it keeps and track record of all the errors that we get from them so we can have more eyes and get them before our users. We also are integrating with out servers and databases to see performances and metrics on them to make sure everything is running as needd

  • June 25, 2024

Robust integration and tooling. The search is rather powerful but a bit convoluted.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the search and the interface to be slightly difficult to use and
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Datadog offers a single location for all of our logging. This makes it easy as a product security engineer to find and diagnose issues alerted by in our other tooling.

What do you like best about the product?
Their adaptability. At oine point they didn't have open telemetry options for the product, but then eventually added it on a year or two later
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing lol. It can get pretty heavy handed. Also support hasn't been the best compared to other products i've used in the past.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network and pod health. Alerting. Easy integrations. I do like the terraform provider

Helps to set up alerts and thresholds to monitor real-time metrics

  • April 16, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Datadog is mainly used to set up alerts and thresholds to monitor real-time metrics and checks.

What is most valuable?

Integrating Datadog with other platforms has made our monitoring processes a bit easier. It's not super simple, but it's manageable.

What needs improvement?

For three to four months, we have been experiencing real-time delays. For example, if we're monitoring incoming traffic, the real-time status should be displayed up to a certain point. However, due to delays or issues with Datadog, the real-time data might only be updated at an earlier time. We are experiencing consistent delays in data updates from Datadog, with the most recent data often being delayed by about an hour. This issue has been ongoing for the past four months.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product for a year.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

My company has 50 users for Datadog.

How was the initial setup?

The tool's deployment is difficult and time-consuming.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The tool is open-source.

What other advice do I have?

If you're thinking about using Datadog for the first time, I suggest getting some basic training in data operations. It'll help you navigate Datadog more easily.
Learning it for the first time is not overly difficult, but it's also not very easy.

I would rate the tool a seven out of ten. While it's a useful tool, we've experienced some issues that haven't been resolved yet. Additionally, setting up dashboards and utilizing all the features requires some training.

It's kinda okay in some ways but there're some irritating things around it

  • March 15, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Statistics and sessions, my main doing, are to my liking, it describes well enough.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not nice to replace all every typing field as asteriks, i just want the passwords to be hidden, not the other ones. Hiding message details and email of users somehow blocks the view to address the problem directly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User sessons and those details helped me much on spotting errors of the site and which caught users in confusions.

Simple, Fast and Effective

  • March 13, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity in setup, its very easy to create things like a regular upcheck and have it sent to your alerting channel of choice
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it doesn't have as many features as its competitors do for our purposes. We use datadog as part of a suite of services rather than a one-stop-shop
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It can be difficult to be aware of downtime on your services, especially when it happens for a specific container in your fleet. Datadog helps us notice this immediately and alerts us

What do you dislike about the product?
Can be overwheling if not experienced with the platform
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly monitoring serverless distributed systems

Datadog good and bad but useable for testing

  • March 12, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Datadog is good at getting the veriables for the testing with most working riht away
Other programs something require editing.
Record and playback as expected
What do you dislike about the product?
Some Step recorded can't be edited only recorded again
This is an isssue if the veriable is a ID number that might change over time.
Example a drop down list get an added item.
Datadog no live playback only after the fact so one has to wait to see why somehting failed
Some pages are not update in real time (30 minute delay)
22 second run time test takes over a minute to show results and page doens't autorefresh
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Datadog sove the issue of changes not being communicated to the test group
by using Datadog I can moniotr changes to code and the effect on the UI
