Seamless web deployment has showcased my portfolio projects and supports rapid CI/CD updates

  • March 06, 2026
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform involves deploying light projects, specifically those that I want to deploy as an MVP, but nothing extremely serious. I generally put more of my light web development projects and deploy them through Netlify Platform.

One of my main use cases for Netlify Platform includes showcasing projects that I have under my portfolio or on my resume. An example of a project that I deployed with Netlify Platform is my open chat room app called Retro JChat, which I built on the web and connected with Firebase. This app allows people to log in using their Google email and join an open chat with others, and I deployed it on Netlify Platform to ensure it could be shared and used by others while passing in the API keys as environment variables.

I have another project that I deployed on Netlify Platform, which is my portfolio, one of my works that won a hackathon last spring. Additionally, I deployed another project where I also won a Visa hackathon, along with another project for which I created my own Gemini model.

What is most valuable?

The best features that Netlify Platform offers, in my opinion, involve its beginner-friendly nature. One of the standout features is the simple drag-and-drop option for importing or deploying a build folder from my project, making it more accessible compared to Vercel, which requires linking to a GitHub account. Netlify Platform's flexibility is also a major plus, allowing users without a GitHub account to easily deploy projects without facing strict upload limits.

Using Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization by streamlining the deployment process. As the first deployment service I experimented with, it made things significantly faster when I need to push changes and reflect them immediately. The continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline that Netlify Platform provides allows me to deploy new changes to my GitHub repository and see them implemented within seconds to minutes, which is both efficient and impressive.

What needs improvement?

I believe that I need more experience using Netlify Platform to understand potential improvements better, as my primary reason for utilizing Netlify Platform revolves around showcasing projects. Thus far, my experience has mainly been about dragging and dropping build folders, so I have yet to explore more features beyond that.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for about a year, and I have utilized it to deploy numerous projects that I have developed and created.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

My experience with Netlify Platform has been stable, and I have not encountered any downtime or significant issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I find the scalability of Netlify Platform to be commendable. Although I do not often deploy very large projects, the largest ones I have deployed include my Gemini model and my open chat room web app, which Netlify Platform handles very effectively.

How are customer service and support?

I have never needed to reach out to Netlify Platform support, as I find their services to be very user-friendly and easy to navigate.

How was the initial setup?

My experience with the pricing and setup for Netlify Platform has been positive since I have not incurred any costs to utilize their services, primarily relying on their web deployment offerings.

What was our ROI?

Since I have not spent any money on different tiers with Netlify Platform, the free tier has definitely saved me money, allowing me to access sufficient services without payment. Moreover, it has saved significant time being efficient and straightforward in deploying projects I build.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I use Netlify Platform and Vercel interchangeably depending on the nature of the project I am developing. If I am working on a lighter project, I tend to deploy it on Netlify Platform, while for heavier projects requiring diverse builds, I prefer Vercel.

As I mentioned, Netlify Platform was the first web deployment service I ever used, and I continue to use it and Vercel interchangeably based on the project requirements.

What other advice do I have?

Netlify Platform effectively communicates essential functions, making it easy to understand without much reliance on documentation or tutorials. Its beginner-friendly approach allows users new to web deployment services to navigate it reasonably quickly.

I do not categorize my use of Netlify Platform into public, private, hybrid, or on-premises, as I mainly utilize it solely for showcasing projects in my portfolio that I build personally.

I would recommend Netlify Platform as very beginner-friendly, emphasizing its straightforward nature. The user interface is simple and approachable, making it an excellent starting point for anyone new to web development or continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

I rate Netlify Platform a 10 because of how seamless and straightforward it is to make web deployments. Netlify Platform stands out with its speed in reflecting changes to projects deployed through their service when updates are pushed to a GitHub repository.

Continuous deployment from code has streamlined small site launches and improved daily workflows

  • February 26, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

Currently, I do not have a very large application; I have two static pages, one is a portfolio and the other is a lightweight e-commerce for selling products.

How has it helped my organization?

Netlify Platform has significantly reduced the time spent managing infrastructure in my projects, and being able to spin up the pages from GitHub quite quickly has also helped me to spin up small servers in a timely manner.

What is most valuable?

Since Netlify Platform is connected to GitHub, the process becomes quite fast in terms of updates; when requirements are raised and I manage to complete the tasks to fix or update the system, once it is updated or the pushes are made to GitHub, the page is updated quite quickly.

Netlify Platform's option for email is also very good; it has very low prices, and having this fast connectivity with GitHub makes it a platform that can scale quite well.

The best features of Netlify Platform would be continuous and native deployment with GitHub, as well as deployment previews, good DNS management, and SSL management in the side panel, making everything quite user-friendly.

Netlify Platform offers good detail when a page or deployment fails, which speeds up the repair process quite a lot, making it very useful in my daily workflow and when collaborating with others.

By having continuous deployment directly from GitHub, I only have to worry about pushing to GitHub, allowing me to manage all the branches and contributions directly; I only need to focus on GitHub, and the rest will be rendered directly on Netlify Platform.

What needs improvement?

For the moment, Netlify Platform could improve with greater integration of AI for server control or management as well as for static page management.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for approximately a year, during which I have deployed two static pages.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I consider Netlify Platform to be a stable solution, especially for developers who are just starting out, as it is user-friendly and very fast for deployment.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of Netlify Platform has been positive for me; by linking private servers and spinning up the platform from GitHub, it makes scaling my projects very easy.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before using Netlify Platform, I had only used Hostinger, so I did not have much knowledge, and I currently use Netlify Platform and Amazon.

How was the initial setup?

I acquired Netlify Platform through Netlify's own official website.

What was our ROI?

The biggest savings I have had by using Netlify Platform has been in time; I have saved at least 40% of the time compared to what was done previously in other projects.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with the pricing, implementation costs, and licensing of Netlify Platform has been quite pleasant; the prices are in line with the market, neither very high nor very low.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

When I started using Netlify Platform, I was very much a novice; I only evaluated a couple of options such as Render or Hostinger, and at that time, Netlify Platform seemed more affordable.

What other advice do I have?

Regardless of connectivity or country location, I think Netlify Platform is always a good alternative for those considering its use.

I believe it is a good platform for fast deployments, especially for smaller projects, so if users are new developers who are starting out, it is definitely a good option.

I would rate this review a 10.

Automated deployments have streamlined hosting workflows and save significant development time

  • January 30, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Netlify Platform is hosting. I host sites with environment variables or without them as a place to map over to GitHub, so every time I push, it automatically deploys to production. It is very convenient. Domain management is available in Netlify Platform, but that is not my primary use.

What is most valuable?

Netlify Platform offers many features. The automation is the best feature of Netlify Platform. It is easy to use. Netlify Platform has positively impacted my organization by being very productive. I have saved a lot of time overall. It is easier to debug if builds break, which is a workflow that has become more efficient because of Netlify Platform.

What needs improvement?

The only thing I really do not like about Netlify Platform is that when I look up an article, there is a lot of fluff instead of easily searchable content. That might be my only complaint, but I like the interface. Everything is very obvious and easy to learn.

It would be cool if Netlify Platform had suggestions on how I could use features because I know there are many features that I may not understand how they work and I am unaware of. With artificial intelligence, being able to learn based on behavior, it might provide a notification like 'Hey, this feature, here is how to learn more,' or something similar.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Netlify Platform for around six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Netlify Platform is usually stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Netlify Platform's scalability is pretty good since I have no issues with it.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was previously using Bluehost, and I have hosted some things through GitHub Pages. I have used DigitalOcean before, which is not necessarily hosting but more about housing different droplets. I do not do anything crazy technical, so I use SvelteKit, which is a full-stack platform for building apps, and usually Neon or I have used Supabase or local Postgres. Netlify Platform is good at handling environment variables, loading up files, and being ready to go.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Netlify Platform is that the pricing is reasonable. It is a small team, so it was not too expensive. It was very easy to set up a team and start adding projects.

What other advice do I have?

If others are looking into using Netlify Platform, I would advise that if you do not have crazy technical requirements, it is a very good option. Even as a solo developer, it is basically free. It is really nice if you are deploying many sites through repositories to map it to your main branch and auto-deploy. This is a game changer as a developer.

I would like to say to Netlify Platform team to keep doing what you are doing. I am looking forward to seeing what you do in the future. I give this review a rating of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Effortless Deployments and Hosting with Great Developer Experience

  • May 14, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My most preferred aspect of Netlify is that static sites and JAMstack sites become deployable with a one-button click or simply a push to Git. The automated/continuous deployment from Git is smooth and all the built-in features like forms, serverless functions, redirects, and preview branches simplifies the development process. The dashboard is simple to work around and the free plan is surprisingly large and reduces the time for code and preview.
What do you dislike about the product?
Netlify is good for the front-end and static websites, but there are some limits for more complex backend functionality. Lacks the logs to resolve the issues
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Netlify simplifies hosting and launching modern web applications. I need not toworry about the servers, set up the CI/CD pipelines manually, nor concern myself with hosting. It automatically deploys and builds whenever I commit code by tying into Git. This is a significant time-saver and enables me to spend more time building rather than doing DevOps. Serverless functions, rollbacks that roll out speedily, and preview deployments are things that have automated my work.

Seamless and Powerful Hosting for Modern Web Projects

  • January 26, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Netlify’s simplicity and power are unmatched. Its seamless CI/CD integration makes deploying websites and web apps incredibly straightforward, even for beginners, making the ease of implementation outstanding. The intuitive dashboard, paired with preview links, has streamlined my workflow for frequent deployments. Netlify’s support team is responsive and helpful, providing clear solutions to issues, which adds to the overall positive experience. The platform’s reliability means we use it frequently for a variety of projects, from small prototypes to full-scale web apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Netlify is fantastic overall, the free plan has limitations on build minutes and bandwidth, which can be restrictive for scaling projects. The pricing for higher tiers can also feel steep for smaller teams or individual developers. Additionally, more advanced documentation for less common use cases would be helpful for more niche implementations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Netlify makes deploying static websites and web apps effortless by automating the entire hosting process. It eliminates the complexity of manual deployments and server management, enabling me to focus on development. The instant previews and continuous deployment from Git save time and ensure a seamless workflow. Additionally, the platform provides excellent performance and scalability for my projects without requiring extensive backend setup.
