What do you like best about the product?
Teamcenter PLM with its comprehensive capabilities enables companies to digitalize product innovation through service value chain with a seamless digital thread - key for accelerated innovation and time-to-market, improved product quality and compliance and increased revenue and profitability.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform needs more architectural changes to make it modern and cloud-native; also needs better integration with other Siemens suite of products for seamless business process and data contuinity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enabling better enterprise collaboration, product data management and quality and compliance management.

15 years admin review

  • May 11, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I had been a Teamcenter admin for 15 years. It's had very good manufacturing functionalities comparing to other plm tools
What do you dislike about the product?
Teamcenter UI doesn't have improvement since Teamcenter 8. The latest version is 14, which is still similar to 8
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to manage whole life cycle from engineering to manufacturing

A three year journey

  • May 11, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how much connectivity and integration that Teamcenter provides. There is only a small portion of the software that we use in our facility, a lot of legacy applications are still relied on and we are working to implement new improvements every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the migration and legacy systems that we continue to rely on. We have data from five other PLM systems and not all of which has been set up the same way
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving a lot of the fundamental day to day business processes and introducing new improvements to the Active Workspace. The end users can see the improvements and provide feedback for future improvements.

Worked with Teamcenter over 7 years, performance is a main issue

What do you like best about the product?
I like AWS, not sure how Admin features in RAC will carry over to AWS. I support SWIM and like the ability to keep models under control. We also have Agile PLM onsite that we support too. The workflows in Teamcenter work better than Agile, but the workflows in Agile were designed to be a more manual flow. The BOM in Agile is interesting when looking at revisions and ECO. It is easier to see in the BOM the change compared to Teamcenter 11.2
What do you dislike about the product?
The performance, in AWS the Workflow and JT model rendering is very slow. Not sure if is because we are on versions 11.2 & 3.4. Also, our data was migrated from Enterprise back in 2017, but is still being cleaned up on an as-needed bases. So in many cases, I do not know if is Teamcenter or our data that is causing performance issues. A method to migrate the Design BOM coming in from ECAD or MCAD to the Part Item. Currently, we are manually re-entering the BOM data into the Part BOM based off of the ECAD or MCAD BOM list.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company is currently preparing to be certified for CMMC and handling of CUI data. We are looking at Teamcenter and how we might need to add a CUI attribute to help us in controlling the data.

Great UI that is fast and responsive

What do you like best about the product?
The look and feel of Active Workspace compared to Teamcenter. The simplicityy makes doing your job not only fast but fun.
What do you dislike about the product?
This may be an issue on our side but we have noticed slowness when developing Active Workspace. Also that you cant open object by right-clicking and "open in new tab".
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am currently developing Active Workspace so we can transition our users to the web application.

Teamcenter @ 5 years in

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Integration of design data and tools. Continual investment by Siemens to keep it superior. Has provdided ample benefits for my company.
What do you dislike about the product?
New integrations are not always 100% in early releases. Difficult to train tech resources - where to start - due to complexities of the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing a global platform for design teams.
Design Data avialable globally to engineering groups.
Driving towards EBOM/MBOM and extension of PLM E2E

Teamcenter PLM

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Teamcenter has allowed our customers to consolidate their data in a centralized hub. This allows integrations to be made with other systems. Bringing data together in a commonplace for the enterprise.
What do you dislike about the product?
If the system has not been configured, and the data volume increases, the performance can get slower for inserting data and performing fetches. Removing the Thin Client has slowed down simple searches, especially when working with multiple environments and opening the Rich Client is not feasble.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data Migration, Integration and Reporting. Transferring data between vendors. Mapping the different data models. Creating dashboards that link data using the eQube DAAS Platform.

Teamcenter as a Digital Transformation Platform

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Teamcenter provides powerful workflows and user experience. Navigation and searching is very simple and doesnt need user training. backed by Teamcenter platinum support, helps accelerate adoption
What do you dislike about the product?
Teamcenter adoption and migration from existing PLM solutions can get cumbersome and challenging if not done properly. Teamcenter can provide more advanced migration modules for both data and CAD designs to accelerate and mistake proof migration to Teamcenter
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Teamcenter is our master PLM solution for all Engineering communities. We are converging from all PLM solutions into Teamcenter as the key solution. Integration with design solution, Simulation Life Cycle management to give consistent and cohsevice experience to all stakeholders

New product design and development processes

What does this button do?

  • May 10, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is highly configurable and customizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is often difficult to understand how a particular widget (data type, property, template, etc.) is supposed to be used. E.g. we subclassed Specification to create a place to store process spec documents ("apply coating per spec 12435"), not knowing it was *intended* to be used with the requirements spec template.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CAD management; part/EBOM configuration management, component engineering, material definitions, environmental health & Safety.
