Cloud8 - CMP for FINOPS, Workflows and Best Practices

My use cases of Cloud8 Platform would be cloud infrastructure management and governance. I use it mainly to provision and manage cloud resources, monitor infrastructure health, track costs, and ensure compliance across multiple environments. A good example from my daily work is using Cloud8 Platform to monitor cloud resources, review usage and cost insights, and quickly identify configuration or compliance issues so they can be resolved before they impact our applications or operations.

When it comes to the best features that Cloud8 Platform offers, I would say the centralized dashboard, cloud governance, and compliance capabilities stand out. It also has resource inventory, cost visibility, and proactive monitoring, which give clear insights into cloud resources, making it easier to troubleshoot issues, optimize usage, and maintain compliance across multiple cloud environments. This is the main feature I have found useful in Cloud8 Platform, and I have been using it for two years.

When I say centralized dashboards and cloud governance, this gives me a single place to monitor all our cloud resources, so I don't have to switch between multiple tools or cloud consoles. The easy monitoring and alerting feature also helps me find potential issues early, and we can respond before they affect production. This saves time and improves operational efficiency, making our day-to-day cloud management much more streamlined. Overall, these features help our team work more efficiently and maintain a reliable cloud environment.

Cloud8 Platform does not have a lot of improvement areas, but I have a positive experience with it, and one area of improvement would be to provide more customizable dashboards and reporting options so teams can tailor the platform to their specific operational needs. I would also like to see more AI-driven recommendations for cost optimization, security, and compliance, along with deeper integrations with more DevOps and ITSM tools.

As an example, I would like to see deeper integrations with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Slack. It would be useful if Cloud8 Platform could automate ticket creation and remediation workflows when it detects compliance or configuration issues. Additionally, expanding APIs and providing more out-of-the-box automation templates would make it easier to integrate Cloud8 Platform into existing DevOps workflows and reduce manual effort.

I have been using Cloud8 Platform for about two years, and during that time, I used it regularly to manage cloud infrastructure, monitor resources, and streamline day-to-day operations.

I would recommend taking the time to understand Cloud8 Platform's governance, monitoring, and automation capabilities from the beginning. Start with a small deployment, define your governance policies early, and integrate Cloud8 Platform with your existing DevOps tools. Make use of the dashboards, alerts, and reporting features to gain visibility into your environment. With this setup, you can improve operational efficiency, strengthen compliance, and simplify day-to-day cloud management. I would rate this review a 9 out of 10.

Additionally, I find the expanded environment metrics useful, including compliance, security, backup health, and an overall FinOps score.

I would like to see integration with Datadog for billing and cost analytics.

We initially tested native cloud billing tools, but they lacked process standardization, uniform metrics, and the multi-cloud capabilities needed for FinOps consulting.

The solution delivers strong value for the price.
