What is our primary use case?
Cloud8 delivered real savings of 16.5% within 45 days, with zero downtime, and supported an architecture redesign.
How has it helped my organization?
Of all the tools I tested, this one gave me the greatest granularity and the best indications of where to focus my efforts. They create their own best practice rules and deliver everything ready for me to implement.
I have been applying it along with the principles of the FinOps Foundation and I am getting great results. The product also receives constant upgrades, with new features for each technological advancement.
They even released support for OpenAI, MongoDB Atlas, and a more modern web interface.
What is most valuable?
The broader and customizable best-practice libraries are very valuable. I also appreciate the native OpenAI usage-cost visibility that links model workloads to billing.
Additionally, I find the expanded environment metrics useful, including compliance, security, backup health, and an overall FinOps score.
What needs improvement?
I would like to see integration with Datadog for billing and cost analytics.

We initially tested native cloud billing tools, but they lacked process standardization, uniform metrics, and the multi-cloud capabilities needed for FinOps consulting.
