Roles and Identities

Amazon Q can understand and respect existing governance identities, roles, and permissions, personalizing interactions accordingly. If a user doesn't have permission to access certain data without Amazon Q, they cannot access it using Amazon Q either.

Content Usage

When you sign up for Amazon Q Builder, Amazon Q Business, or CodeWhisperer Professional plans, we don't use your content to improve underlying models for other users.

Amazon Q in action

Ask Amazon Q: "What are the latest guidelines for logo usage?" or "How do I apply for a company credit card?" and get fast answers plus links to the relevant sources (for example, brand portals and logo repositories, company T&E policies, and card applications).
Ask Amazon Q: "What is the financial impact of delayed replenishment orders?" in the AWS Supply Chain application, and it will reply, "The delays will cause 20 of your fast-moving products to go out of stock, with a revenue impact of $150K. You could expedite shipments to reduce the revenue impact by $95K, at a cost of $2.4K."
Ask Amazon Q: "What are the ways to build a web application on AWS?" in the AWS Management Console. Amazon Q will provide a list of potential services like Amplify, Lambda, and Amazon EC2 with the advantages of each and links to getting started resources.

Ask Amazon Q in QuickSight to: "Show me sales by region by month as a stacked bar chart." Amazon Q will come back with the diagram, which you can easily add to a dashboard. If you need to refine the visualization, just continue the conversation: "Change the bar chart into a Sankey diagram," or "Show countries instead of regions."

Amazon Q in Connect uses real-time questions from a customer, such as, "I want to change my rental car reservation. Will I be charged a fee?" Amazon Q will automatically generate a response for a contact center agent to quickly communicate how the company's change-fee policies apply to this customer. It can also guide the agent through needed steps to update the reservation.
