ScaleOut hServer (HVM)
Product Overview
ScaleOut hServer is the world's first in-memory execution engine for Hadoop Map Reduce. ScaleOut hServer can analyze live data using standard Hadoop Map Reduce code, in-memory and in parallel without the need to install and manage the Hadoop stack of software. Only one small change is needed to your Hadoop program. It also provides fast analysis of large, static datasets. There is no need to learn anything new; if you know Hadoop Map Reduce, you can use ScaleOut hServer right away. When using ScaleOut hServer, Map Reduce applications can input data from either ScaleOut's in-memory datagrid (IMDG) or from other data sources, such as HDFS. When using external data sources, dataset size is only limited by the combined, intermediate dataset output by the mappers, which ScaleOut hServer buffers within the IMDG. By adding servers to the cluster, the IMDG can hold intermediate datasets in the terabytes. This enables ScaleOut hServer to analyze large, static datasets in addition to fast-changing, "live" data hosted in the IMDG. Instances include Standard Support for ScaleOut hServer. Premium support packages are available directly from ScaleOut Software. NOTE: At this time, this product instance must be launched using the "Launch with EC2 Console" option.
