Mysql is an open-source Database. We have invested in making MYSql upgradeable. Windows doesn't offer upgrades for such installed software, but using Docker makes it possible. The Database is installed a volume external to the container, so it won't get deleted when a different version of MYSql is installed.

This Windows Server 2016 with Container Support has popular open source software is great for those who want a server that can be managed by any of the millions of Windows System Administrators around the world. Files can be manipulated through the Windows File Manager and edited in the standard Windows Text Editors.
