Overview

What is a landing zone and why is it necessary?

A landing zone is a well-architected, multi-account AWS environment that’s both scalable and secure. It’s a starting point from which your organization can quickly launch and deploy workloads and applications with confidence in your security and infrastructure environment.

An AWS Landing Zone includes the following benefits:

  1. Allows users to implement multiple core accounts in an organization
  2. Automates setup of an AWS environment
  3. Automates account provisioning
  4. Creates a baseline for security
  5. Operates in a DevOps environment
  6. Integrates with Gitlab
  7. Security features include monitoring, alerts, logging, identity and access management, service control policies and multi-factor authentication
  8. Governance options can automatically enable rules and dashboards
  9. Provides visibility for resource utilization
  10. Gives users the ability to create new accounts from the AVM

With an A2C Cloud designed Landing Zone you get the following features:

  1. AWS Account Strategy – A centralized AWS multi-account environment providing your business with streamlined billing, flexible security controls, and fast innovation.
  2. Single Sign-On (SSO) – Centrally managed Identity and Access Management (IAM) across all AWS accounts (integrated with your Identity Provider), allowing your users to access all of their AWS resources while maintaining security.
  3. Guardrails – Predefined detective and preventive rules that enable ongoing governance for your AWS environment.
  4. Account Factory – Built-in account provisioning to help with the deployment of new AWS accounts with approved configurations.
  5. Backups – Centralized and automated data protection of supported AWS services across all accounts to help you meet data protection requirements.
  6. Patch Management – Automated operating system patching for security and other types of updates across your AWS environment.

Our Process We meet for a 60–90-minute technical session where we’ll dig deeply into your current AWS account environment. We’ll also discuss what your perfect case scenario would look like.

Once that’s completed, our Certified AWS Solutions Architect will design a solution that adheres to the Well-Architected Framework, while always keeping in mind your desired end result. We’ll then create a customized Scope of Work, with any potential new AWS monthly costs included. There may also be additional funds available from AWS for this project. This will be determined during our discovery process and will be included in our proposal.
