Overview

The Cevo Migration Method consists of three sequential phases including Assess, Migration Readiness and Planning, and Mobilise and Migrate. Cevo's Migration Readiness Assessment is a programmatic approach to assessing your business and the technical current state readiness for the migration of your workloads to the cloud.

The Assess Phase is delivered using a combination of stakeholder workshops and the technical collection of workload data.

Workshop Assessments are based on the AWS Cloud Architecture Framework (CAF) and assess your current business and technical state across the following perspectives:

• Business - related to cloud investment alignment with digital transformation ambitions and business outcomes.
• People - focuses on culture, organisational structure, workforce and leadership
• Governance - relates to orchestration of cloud initiatives to maximise business values and reduce transformation risk.
• Platform - focuses on building an enterprise-grade and scalable cloud platform to support migrated and future modern workloads.
• Security - focuses on achieving Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA) of workloads and data.
• Operations - delivery of cloud services to a level required to meet business needs.
• Migration Scope - Identify workload / application scope of migration activities.

Technical data collection is achieved with the AWS Migration Evaluator service or a similar existing customer service. The type of information gathered includes an application level view of compute, network and storage requirements.

Information gathered during workshop and technical based assessment activities is analysed, and recommendations are fed into one of the following eight Migration Readiness and Planning (MRP) work streams:

• Migration Readiness Planning & Governance
• Detailed Business Case
• Skills and Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE)
• Operations
• Landing Zone
• Security
• Application Discovery & Planning
• Application Migration Pilot

Subsequently the proposed MRP workstream activities drive the creation of a Directional Business Case, which includes estimates for Total Cost of Investment (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI) and Migration Activity costs.

The Cevo Migration Assess Phase includes the following deliverables:

• Onsite or remote Migration Readiness Assessment workshops
• Migration Readiness Assessment reports and presentations
• Technical data collection for workload requirements assessment
• Directional Business Case preparation and presentation
• Documented backlog of Migration Readiness workstream activities

As an AWS Migration Competency Partner, Cevo can access Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) funding to help you offset Migration Assessment Phase costs.
