Camunda empowers organizations to orchestrate and automate end-to-end business processes, including AI agents and human workflows. Designed for both business and IT teams, Camunda's robust orchestration platform delivers speed, scale, and control without sacrificing security, governance, or innovation. Leading companies like Goldman Sachs, Atlassian, Intuit, Deutsche Telekom, BNY Mellon, and Walmart trust Camunda to run their mission-critical processes.

The platform provides centralized visibility and governance across all processes-from manual tasks to AI-driven decisions. With Camunda, AI agents are managed under the same reliable process framework as other technologies, ensuring transparency and control at every step. This allows organizations to enforce security standards, streamline compliance, and confidently scale operations.

Camunda simplifies process modeling through support for BPMN and DMN standards, allowing business users to clearly communicate intent to developers. Its BPMN Copilot provides an intuitive design experience without requiring prior modeling expertise. Once built, the executable model serves as the foundation for development, enabling scalable and flexible solutions with minimal rework.

Camunda's capabilities extend to agent orchestration, RPA, document processing, human workflows, and seamless integration with existing systems through pre-built connectors and an open architecture. Its composable platform easily integrates with your current tools and legacy systems, supported by rich APIs, SDKs, and clear technical documentation.

The platform is cloud-native and horizontally scalable, offering high availability and resilience for both small and large-scale workloads. Camunda can orchestrate processes across teams and geographies, maintaining performance and reliability at enterprise scale.

What makes Camunda stand out is its focus on being composable, intelligent, open, collaborative, and scalable. It fits into your existing development ecosystem, supports real-time collaboration with business stakeholders, and delivers low-latency execution without bottlenecks-empowering organizations to adapt, grow, and innovate confidently.

    Highlights

    • Tame business process complexity across a range of people, AI agents, systems, and devices: Camunda is designed for integration with all of diverse endpoints that make up your end-to-end business processes, from agents to microservices to human tasks to legacy systems, and everything in between.
    • Solve disconnects between business and IT: Deep collaboration between teams helps ensure business agility by drastically reducing the time it takes to implement and adapt processes. A shared process model and modeling language bridges the gap between software developers, low-code developers, business technologists, and business stakeholders.
    • Break through infrastructure and technology limitations: Customize any process to fit the unique needs of your business instead of bending processes to fit closed and proprietary automation tooling. Scale up to meet business demand without sacrificing performance or resilience.

Virtual Success: Deep Dives into Agentic Orchestration with Camunda

    Reviewed on Oct 09, 2025
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I really appreciate about Camunda is its foundation on open standards like BPMN and DMN. This approach ensures that everyone on the team, from business analysts to developers, can clearly understand our processes. It doesn't operate as a mysterious black box; instead, you can visually track and audit every step.

I also value how developer-friendly Camunda is without being unnecessarily complicated. The REST APIs are reliable, and integration with our existing tech stack is seamless, particularly since we use Java and Spring Boot. There's no sense of being locked into their ecosystem—Camunda works well with any services you need to orchestrate.

At CamundaCon 2025, I was especially intrigued by their vision for agentic orchestration. Using Camunda as a governance layer for AI agents seems logical, as oversight and auditability are crucial when AI is involved in critical business processes.

The scalability offered by Camunda 8 and Zeebe is impressive as well. Hearing real-world examples at the conference of companies running high-volume processes reassured me that Camunda is capable of handling enterprise-scale workloads reliably.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, the learning curve can be quite steep if you're new to this area. While BPMN is intended to be a "standard," mastering the modeling of complex, real-world processes—especially when it comes to proper error handling and event management—definitely takes time. I've noticed that people often struggle with it at first.

Setting up and operating Camunda 8 can also be challenging. Getting all the components, like Operate, Tasklist, and the monitoring tools, to work smoothly—particularly if you're self-hosting on Kubernetes—demands significant DevOps expertise. If your team lacks that kind of infrastructure know-how, you might find yourselves stuck for a while before you start seeing real benefits.

Another point of frustration is how developer-centric the platform remains. Even though more connectors are being added and there are efforts to simplify things, you still end up writing a fair amount of custom code to make everything function as needed. Business users can't really build solutions independently; they still rely heavily on the development team for most implementations. If you're looking for a more drag-and-drop friendly experience, some other platforms might be a better fit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’ve built an AI-powered Supplier Onboarding solution fully on Camunda that automates tax, banking, and compliance checks in days—not weeks. It’s helping Retail and CPG teams cut onboarding time from 12 days to under 5.

What do you like best about the product?
Camunda has significantly contributed to improving our business operations, largely due to its robust workflow orchestration capabilities. At JPMorgan Chase, we employ both Camunda 7 and Camunda 8 in our product. I find Camunda intuitive and easy to use, which makes the process of learning and implementing it quite straightforward. I am looking forward to use Agentic AI capabilities and Camunda con 2025 provided valuable insights about the same. I am grateful to entire Camu da team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would appreciate greater flexibility in the UI area of Camunda. The interface should offer more options for customization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We operate in a highly regulated environment, where we perform manual due diligence reviews for our customers by following a series of steps. The Camubda workflow orchestration tool has been helping us streamline these business processes.
