Rocky Linux 8

By: Latest Version: RockyLinux-8.4-Minimal-20210724-8GiB

Product Overview

Rocky Linux is a community enterprise operating system designed to be 100% binary-compatible with the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

This is a minimal Rocky Linux 8 image, mainly used as a common base system on top of which other appliances could be built and tested. It contains just enough packages to run within AWS, bring up a SSH Server and allow users to login. Cloud-init, as well as the Rocky Linux 8 security updates available at the release date are included.

Root login is disabled and only the 'rocky' user is allowed to connect using ssh public key authentication.

Built using Rocky Linux 'Minimal Install' group of packages and a single 8 GiB instance volume. Both root partition and the corresponding filesystem are automatically extended during boot if selected volume is bigger than the default one.

This Rocky Linux 8 AMI is enabled for a limited number of instance types. For a Rocky Linux 8 AMI that is available for all instance types, and that includes the support provided by ProComputers, please visit:

ProComputers is a proud sponsor of the Rocky Linux project.
