GUI for Numerical Predictions in the public cloud (Graviton3 & 3e)

GUI for Numerical Predictions in the public cloud (Graviton3 & 3e)

By: Odycloud Latest Version: v0.1.3
Linux/Unix
Linux/Unix

Product Overview

GUI for Numerical Predictions allows model users to manage different aspects of Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) and Air Quality Modeling (AQM) simulations in the public cloud using a graphical environment. The GUI version included in the AMI takes full advantage of the computational power offered by Graviton3 and Graviton3E processors resulting in lower simulation wall times and an outstanding cost/performance ratio. The AMI also integrates optimized installations of the latest versions of CMAQ (v5.4) and WRF (v4.4.1) along with postprocessing tools mapped via a Geographic Information System (GIS). The GUI also allows model users to directly interact with S3 buckets and to download data for meteorological and air quality predictions in an accelerated fashion.

The AMI includes the following features:

  • GUI to handle NWP and AQM software along with several pre and postprocessing tools
  • Integration of CMAQ v5.4 and v5.3.3 optimized for Graviton3(E) with the GUI
  • Integration of WRF-4.4.1 optimized for Graviton3(E) with the GUI
  • Custom interface with S3 allowing users to manage buckets and store or transfer files to and from buckets
  • Custom interface to download GFS meteorological data in an accelerated fashion
  • Availability of GIS tools to expand capabilities complementing the already preinstalled apps

The AMI has all the necessary components to prepare and run WRF and CMAQ simulations; it also includes all the files necessary to run the U.S. Northeast 2018 and U.S. Southeast 2016 benchmark cases for CMAQ v5.4 and v5.3.3, respectively. Once the instance is launched, model users can log on directly from a web browser without having to use a Linux shell (it is still feasible to ssh to the instance and manually perform any task).
