Overview
ProComputers will build a new Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 Amazon Machine Image (AMI) based on customer's requirements.
The new AMI will be made available through AWS Marketplace to customer's selected AWS Account IDs.
The RedHat8 image will be build using following guidelines:
- Any RedHat Enterprise Linux 8.x version can be requested (older RHEL8 Linux versions might have certain newer package versions installed, in order to avoid critical security vulnerabilities).
- Built using RHEL8 'Minimal Install' group of packages.
- Integrated with Red Hat Update Infrastructure in all AWS regions (no separate RHEL subscription required).
- Alternatively customers with Red Hat Cloud Access might choose to use their own RHEL subscription, which leads to smaller AWS instance type prices.
- Access through SSH with public key authentication.
- Cloud-init included.
- LVM managed volume or not, as desired.
- Customized GPT partitioning that allows usage of over 2 TiB volume sizes. EFI partitioning will be available in the near future.
- Enhanced Networking using ENA (Elastic Network Adapter) enabled.
- SELinux enabled or not, as desired.
- Available in selected AWS regions.
- Available for selected AWS instance types.
- Currently only x86_64 architecture, ARM64 available in the near future
- Extended support with a 24h response time included.
- On demand pricing through AWS Marketplace with no upfront cost.
- Name your additional requirement here.
For any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Alternatively please have a look at our existing RedHat8 images publicly available in AWS Marketplace.
There is no upfront cost associated with this 'Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 custom build AMI' service, since it includes only RedHat8 'Minimal Install' group of packages. The new AMI pricing will be the same with existing pricing available for our publicly available RHEL8 AMIs listed in AWS Marketplace. Customers can use this new AMI on demand or purchase yearly contracts with 14% discount or more, depending on quantity. t3a.micro instance type will be free of charge, and therefore can be used for testing. t3a.small instance type has a special 77% discount on yearly contracts.
However, in case additional RPM packages are required to be installed and configured on top of the minimal custom built Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 AMI, a single upfront cost will be required as well. Please see below 'Pricing Information' section for more details.
