Overview
Checkmk Cloud (self-hosted) is a state-of-the-art monitoring platform for cloud and hybrid infrastructures. With features such as auto-registration of hosts, push and pull agents, and built-in dashboards for visualization, it enables you to monitor your cloud workloads and IT assets from the cloud.
CLOUD AND HYBRID MONITORING Checkmk keeps up with the dynamic nature of your cloud: thanks to the auto-registration, it will automatically map your cloud objects to your monitoring, and add or remove containers, pods, VMs, and other ephemeral hosts in real time.
Use the Checkmk agent in push or pull mode and collect monitoring data from cloud-based and on-prem hosts in your infrastructure.
The Checkmk Cloud Edition covers basic cloud use cases such as compute, networking, and storage, as well as cloud-native tech like managed databases, functions, and microservices.

What do you like best about the product?
Checkmk excels in its comprehensive monitoring capabilities, covering everything from network devices and servers to applications and cloud services. The auto-discovery feature is a huge time-saver, and the customizable dashboards provide excellent visibility into our infrastructure's health. The scalability is also a major plus, allowing us to monitor a growing environment effectively. The check plugin ecosystem is vast, meaning we can monitor almost anything we need to.
What do you dislike about the product?
While incredibly powerful, the initial learning curve for some of the more advanced configuration options and custom check development can be a bit steep for new users. Sometimes, troubleshooting very specific or niche monitoring issues can require a deeper dive into the documentation or community forums. The UI, while functional, could benefit from some modernization in certain areas to improve the overall user experience, especially for less technical users.

Checkmk helps us proactively identify and resolve IT infrastructure issues before they impact our users or business operations. This significantly reduces downtime and improves system reliability. The centralized visibility it provides allows us to quickly pinpoint root causes, saving valuable troubleshooting time.
