Dimensions summary
You buy this product through a contract with two dimensions priced per unit. Jamf for Mac is the core offering, billed per macOS device. It bundles Mac management, security, and identity capabilities. You commit to a device count for the contract term. Jamf Premium Cloud is an optional add-on. It gives you flexibility and control over your cloud server, such as choosing when to upgrade, safelisting IPs, and customizing your URL. You add it on top of your Jamf for Mac units. The two dimensions scale independently based on the quantity you select.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one managed macOS device, billed per device. You commit to a device count for the contract term. A 25-device minimum applies. Each Mac you enroll counts as a separate unit toward your total.
Premium Cloud is an optional add-on for hosting your Jamf server in the cloud. It lets you choose when to upgrade, safelist IPs, and customize your URL. These offers are available only for Jamf Cloud customers, not on-premises setups.
Both dimensions bill per unit and appear together on your invoice. Jamf for Mac scales with your macOS device count and typically drives most of the cost. Jamf Premium Cloud is added on top for cloud server control. You select the quantity for each independently.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the speed and power of the Jamf binary, which really stands out to me. The ability to integrate Jamf with our other systems via API is another highlight, as it allows us to automate and customize our tooling to suit our specific business needs. The documentation is thorough, making it easy to either build in-house solutions or find community-built tools we need, ensuring we can move quickly and safely. Also, migrating from on-prem to cloud was rather easy, which was a relief for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the UI around smart group criteria and scoping could really use some improvements. It's quite challenging to see and edit groups and scopes confidently because of the current setup. Specifically, when I'm trying to adjust smart group criteria, I can only add items to the end of the list, not insert them where I actually need them. This means I have to delete and recreate the criteria just to make a simple addition further up, which is a hassle. It would be great if I could insert or drag-and-drop criteria items to reorder them easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf helps us deploy software and settings quickly without disrupting users, manage devices efficiently, and integrate with our systems through APIs to automate processes, ultimately enhancing security and productivity.

What do you like best about the product?
Zero day support, all the resources that are available to learn and grow. The community of mac admins. And so much more!
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost? It's hard to find something that they don't do well for management that can be linked to the Jamf platforms and not just simple bugs or changes Apple makes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everything? Every time I run into a problem or need to make a change, they have support for it and learning to supplement any lack of knowledge I might have.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of configuration, setup, and management of Apple devices. Moving from Intune to Jamf has made management as an IT admin much more streamlined. I also love the application catalog.
What do you dislike about the product?
The non-customizable URL for our Jamf instance when opting into Elevate and having to manage multiple accounts in each product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating a standard process for our management of mobile devices and mac devices. This will help us create a more secure environment and give us visibility on our fleet as we grow as a company.

What do you like best about the product?
The community around Jamf and its products has made adopting their platform so much easier. They have great official documentation however wheneve I came across specific questions I needed help with, the Jamf Nation community has been such a valueable resource.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many of our pain-points have been macOS related as opposed to Jamf related. If I had to nit-pick however, I wish Jamf would consider hosting JNUC in Seattle one of these years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Connect has made all of the AD binding, keychain access related issues vanish. My next step is implementing PSSO to get access to some of the new features.
