insightsDB Synthetic EHR Data includes synthetic, structured data generated by Syntegra from Electronic Health Record Systems, reaching well beyond claims and Rx data. Not only is the synthetic data a wholly accurate representation of the underlying data, but it is completely privacy-preserving with no links to any real patients.

The data provides a detailed picture of the patient’s journey throughout their hospital stay. The data includes patient demographic information and payer type (all payers), as well as rich data not found in any other source – see examples provided below: ● Drugs given, timing and dosing ● Patient location (e.g., ICU, floor, ER) ● Lab results, timing by day and hour ● Physician roles (e.g., surgeon, attending) ● Medications given ● Vital signs

With approximately 6 million unique patients and 18 million encounters over 5 years of history, the participating community hospitals with bed sizes ranging from 25 to 532 provide unique visibility and assessment of variation in care outside of academic centers and large healthcare networks.

Additionally, Syntegra’s synthetic data engine has the ability to expand and augment this data beyond its real counterpart. This allows expanded opportunities for the use of this data through expanding small cohorts to assist in analysis, balancing biased populations, and imputing missingness.
