    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Version release notes

    Created on November 15, 2022.

    Additional details

    Usage instructions

    1. Deploy three or more instances of this AMI into different availability zones within an AWS region. This can be done through the AWS console by selecting the destination subnet when creating the instances.

NOTE: You can deploy less than three instances for using DRBD or LINSTOR, but in order to use DRBD Reactor you will need at least three nodes since DRBD Reactor relies on quorum between DRBD peers.

TIP: You will most likely want to add at least one EBS volume, separate from the instance's root volume, to use as backing storage for LINSTOR or DRBD.

2a. If you're interested in using DRBD, please consult the DRBD User Guide section pertinent to its configuration: https://linbit.com/drbd-user-guide/drbd-guide-9_0-en/#ch-configure

2b. If you're interested in using LINSTOR, please consult the LINSTOR User Guide section pertinent to its initialization:

    https://linbit.com/drbd-user-guide/linstor-guide-1_0-en/#s-linstor-init-cluster

2c. If you're interested in using DRBD Reactor, please consult the DRBD User Guide section pertinent to its configuration:

    https://linbit.com/drbd-user-guide/drbd-guide-9_0-en/#s-drbd-reactor-configuring
