The purpose of the Splunk Cloud Assessment is to gauge the current state of a Splunk Cloud implementation and define areas and activities for improvement to ensure continual progress toward solution maturity. Status and recommendations concerning architecture, system health, data, use cases, and operational practices will be provided in a Splunk Health Check Scorecard.

		•	Splunk Software Architecture and Implementation Review: This phase will be executed in coordination with the customer to understand their objectives for Splunk Cloud, how the software has been implemented and configured, and determine current and target version levels. This phase will provide the foundation for the remaining phases of the project. 
		
		•	Splunk Apps Audit and Review: This phase will include an inventory of the Apps and Add-ons in use within the Splunk environment with recommendations provided for any version upgrades and/or configuration optimizations needed.  
		
		•	Splunk Operational Practices Review: This phase will review current daily operational practices for data ingest, indexing, search and reporting, as well as data backup and recovery. The Data Management and Scheduling Assistant components of Atlas will be leveraged during this phase to enhance the operational practices evaluation, if possible.  
		
		•	Splunk Health Check Scorecard: This phase will summarize the Splunk Cloud Assessment findings and provide documentation to report the current state of the Splunk implementation and identify current and emerging areas that should be addressed to ensure a stable operating posture for the Splunk Cloud environment.  
		
		•	Close-out Call: This phase concludes the assessment with the Splunk engineer presenting the Scorecard for review and discussion. Future remediations or modifications based on the results of the assessment can also be scoped and planned.
