Product Overview

What's Included

Note: Always ensure your operating system is current for your needs.

This product includes both of the software packages described below:

OptiBPM

OptiBPM is a computer-aided design software tool for optical waveguides and optical fibres. It can also be used for systems of waveguides and fibres that perform guiding, coupling, switching, splitting, multiplexing, and demultiplexing of optical signals in photonic devices. OptiBPM is based on the Beam Propagation Method (BPM) of simulating the passage of light through any waveguide medium, both isotropic and anisotropic. With OptiBPM you can observe the near field distribution and examine the radiation and guided field simultaneously. OptiBPM can improve a design engineers productivity, reduce risk, and lower overall costs related to design of waveguides.

The first job in optical component design is the modal analysis of the optical waveguide itself. OptiMode is a complete software suite dedicated to modal analysis of waveguides. Any waveguide can be analysed by a number of numerical algorithms, and many levels of analysis are possible - scalar, semi-vector, full vector, electric formulation, magnetic formulation, isotropic, anisotropic... The waveguide design can be parameterized, and optimized. Scanning over parameters with graphical output is supported with simple dialog boxes. Complex waveguides (such as photonic crystals) can be created with the same VB Script as found in OptiBPM and OptiFDTD. Post processing and review of simulation data is available in the OptiMode Analyzer application.

Amazon EC2 running Microsoft Windows Server is a fast and dependable environment for deploying applications using the Microsoft Web Platform. Amazon EC2 enables you to run any compatible Windows-based solution on AWS' high-performance, reliable, cost-effective, cloud computing platform. Common Windows use cases include Enterprise Windows-based application hosting, website and web-service hosting, data processing, media transcoding, distributed testing, ASP.NET application hosting, and any other application requiring Windows software.

Note: Microsoft ended support for Windows Server 2008 and 2008R2 on January 14th 2020. These images are no longer available from AWS Marketplace. Please review the end of support FAQ here: https://aws.amazon.com/windows/faq/#eos-microsoft-products
