Product Overview

Bring Your Own License (BYOL) for C8000v Transit VPC with Transit Gateway solution of the Cisco Catalyst 8000v delivers maximum performance for virtual enterprise-class networking services in the AWS cloud. The C8000v transit VPC serves as a global network transit center for connecting geographically dispersed VPCs and remote networks.

A C8000v pair is deployed in Transit VPC with VPN attachment to Transit Gateway (TGW) to provide VPN connectivity to various on-premise branch sites with greater control and functionality (QoS, Segmentation, encryption between the Transit VPC and branch sites, etc.). TGW is a regional network transit hub service provided by AWS to interconnect your VPCs in the same region in AWS cloud.

This solution uses lambda functions to first creates a Transit VPC and orchestrates two C8000v in this Transit VPC. Next it orchestrates a transit gateway, creates VPN connections with the C8000v and VPN attachment between C8000v and the transit gateway. The function then saves the VPN connection information to Amazon S3 bucket.

To activate this AMI, please obtain a license from Cisco with the following: (1) Tech Package: DNA Essentials or Advantage (2) For AWS GovCloud region, please contact ask-csr-aws-pm@cisco.com to obtain instructions on how to find C8000v.
