The Riverbed SteelStore AMI compliments the SteelStore family of backup and archive cloud storage appliances, allows organizations to recover data stored within Amazon S3 or Glacier and quickly return to operations within the cloud. This provides increased flexibility for recovering critical business data without the limitation of moving large amounts of data across the Internet or delays caused by sourcing equipment should a disaster occur. The SteelStore AMI can also be used to protect data from applications running in an Amazon EC2 environment, storing it in cheaper tiers of cloud storage for long term backup, archive, audit, and regulatory compliance.
