Pricing
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Select Star is how usable and intuitive the platform feels from the start. The interface is clean, well-organized, and makes navigating complex datasets much simpler. The search functionality is powerful. I can quickly locate the right tables, columns, or dashboards without needing to ask around. It’s been an excellent tool for onboarding onto new data environments and understanding relationships across datasets faster. Overall, Select Star really improves data discovery and collaboration across teams.

Would be helpful to streamline manual stuff like documentation of what column names mean

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Select Star provides a solid support and a rich feature set, which makes it a compelling choice for our needs. I've been using it for almost two years, and it has been instrumental in understanding data lineage and the tagging on certain columns. I appreciate the seamless integration with other tools like Snowflake and dbt, which enhances our overall data ecosystem without any noticeable challenges. The ability to view popular queries and joins of a particular column is particularly beneficial for gaining deeper insights into data usage. I also like the tag propagation feature, which adds a layer of efficiency in managing metadata.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting it up for a dbt mesh ecosystem requires some work in setting up a unified project to feed the data → Select Star.
