TSL provide AWS cloud services in the following key areas:

1. AWS Cloud Readiness Assessment Service: Focusing on your core IT infrastructure services and application technologies and processes we help determine any architectural or process changes that might be necessary prior to integrating with AWS.
2. AWS Adoption Strategy Service After completing the AWS Readiness Assessment we will be in a better position to help develop a detailed adoption strategy that best fits with your business objectives and IT architecture capabilities. A high level review of business objectives and requirements followed by technical migration pilots will provide information required to complete a detailed AWS adoption strategy. The following sections describe the content of the services we offer in these two key areas:

AWS Cloud HPC Readiness Assessment

1. Scope: Determine level of required integration e.g corporate, regional, department, service or application level, specific applications
2. Core Infrastructure Readiness Assessment: Systematically review core IT services for suitability of integration with AWS e.g. security, network, backup
3. Application Readiness Assessment: Review select application technology stacks, inter-dependencies, development and migration processes etc. for suitablity for migration to AWS
4. Integration Readiness Report: The final report will consist of an IT infrastructure services general health check with specific recommendations for changes required to integrate with AWS. Each application under review will receive recommendations specific to it AWS HPC Adoption Strategy Design And Implementation
5. Integration Readiness Assessment: Pre-requisite project will help with planning and sizing of for this one
6. Business Requirements: Create clear definition of business objectives and requirements. This will be essential information for migration roadmap creation
7. Pilot and Application Migration Services: Identify a cross section of applications that will be used for initial pilots on AWS. This will help identify any technical issues early in the process
8. Legacy/As-Is To Target Migration Roadmap Creation: Detailed migration strategy document based on business requirements and IT capabilities.
9. Legacy/As-Is To Target Migration Roadmap Implementation: The Server Labs offers a variety of IT Architecture, Advanced Software Engineering and AWS specific migration services. We can work with your IT teams to combine the right skills and experience to successfully integrate your IT infrastructure and migrate applications to AWS.

Typical Program Scope

1. Mobilisation. Objective: Set-up project and provide delivery plan & timeline. Includes:

   • Onboarding, setting up system/user access
   • Agree documentation tools and repositories
   • Familiarise high level designs, size/complexity of platform
   • Agree deliverables - as-is architecture, to-be architecture, transition architectures, service design, high level designs (HLDs)
   • Scope project and produce high level delivery plan phases and timescales

2. Requirements capture. Objective: Future service requirements capture. Includes:

   • Requirements capture of existing/legacy & future/target service model
   • Service user & SME interviews
   • Legacy data flow identification, capture and storage formats
   • Identify what are the future use cases
   • Define what is the backup strategy

3. Requirements review. Objective: As-is / Future Requirements Analysis Includes:

   • Mapping of current & future service to existing systems.
   • Gap analysis of service requirements
   • Requirements of new systems / tools
   • Legacy data management & governance plan.
   • TCO implications to existing / new systems/decommissioning
   • Document analysis findings

4. Options Appraisal. Objective: Document the to-be/target architecture. Includes:

   • Options presentation and selection
   • HLD of to-be migration architectures or decommissioning
   • HLD of application architecture change
   • HLD of minimal tools to enable gap functionality
   • Service design for future service
   • Capture existing as-is architecture for retained systems/components

5. Implementation Planning. Objective: Produce High Level Implementation Plan. includes:

   • a high level phased delivery plan including service transitions
   • a migration plan for each system including decommissioning
   • a high level change plan for system updates
   • high level costs of changes & TCO post migration.

6. Implementation oversight and handover – The Server labs will ensure a smooth handover to an implementation team and oversee work to be delivered
