Overview
UiPath's mission is to free people from doing mundane tasks, so that they can focus on more high value and creative work. UiPath RPA robots are capable of mimicking many, if not most, human user actions. They log into applications, move files and folders, copy and paste data, fill in forms, extract structured and semi-structured data from documents, scrape browsers, and more. Essentially, any high-volume, business-rules-driven, repeatable process qualifies for automation.
Robot is the run time environment, programmed to run processes modeled with UiPath Studio. Based on the use cases, a robot can be:
UiPath Attended Robots: This kind of robot shares an employee's workstation. The employee controls where and when to use the robot. The attended robot is triggered by an action of the employee and can run automation in tandem with the user, request input, monitor user & track activity. One example use case is contact center agent desktop automation.
UiPath Unattended Robots: Autonomous software robots programmed to run unattended and automate any number of back office activities, around the clock, with exceptional speed and precision. The back-office robot can be remotely controlled from a web console and it is usually deployed in a virtual machine. Typical use cases include invoice processing, Service & app monitoring.
