Overview
DxEnterprise (DxE) uses SDP-enhanced Microsoft SQL Server Availability Groups clustering technology to dramatically reduce the complexity of configuring and managing highly available SQL Server AGs on Linux. DxEnterprise makes AGs highly available across any infrastructure--all without relying on Pacemaker or any other cumbersome and restrictive cluster orchestration technologies. DxE provides advanced fault detection and failover automation to minimize outages for SQL Server databases, helping customers achieve nearest-to-zero total downtime. It supports Windows as well--even enabling cross-platform failover between Windows and Linux machines. It also enables fully automatic failover for SQL Server Availability Groups in Kubernetes, and lets you manage native instances and containers side-by-side.
DxEnterprise SDP-enhanced AGs also enable cross-network failover without opening external ports or the use of virtual private networks (VPNs), enabling simplified cross-network, cross-zone, and cross-region clusters. This also reduces the complexity and cost of running hybrid clusters between on-premises and AWS, and makes it easier to take advantage of Microsoft's SQL Server licensing rules that allow for "free" HA and DR secondary replicas for deployments with Software Assurance.
Highlights
- Manage native instances and containerized SQL Server in the same Availability Group with fully automatic failover for SQL Server AGs in Kubernetes.
- Automatic secure networking across AG nodes in separate sites, regions, or clouds--without a VPN
- Minimal complexity - Standalone solution that replaces need for other clusterware like Pacemaker

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
