Overview

ShardSecure offers a Virtual Appliance that can be deployed in the Cloud or On-premises that uses Microshard technology to ensure data security and privacy. The appliance ingests data via iSCSI, S3 Compatible Object Storage API, Native API, SMB, and NFS. Upon ingestion, data is compressed then shred into microshards (tiny pieces as small as 4 bytes). Microshard data is thoroughly mixed, poison data is added and new shards (containers holding many microshards) equal to the number of configured storage destinations are formed. Data is then be distributed following a user-set policy to multiple independent locations, which may include on-premises/datacenter storage, Amazon S3, Azure, Google and IBM Cloud. The appliance will reassemble microshard data whenever needed.

What do you like best about the product?

The increased speed, 100% secure data in the cloud and that we can use it for all our clouds from internal to AWS, Azure, Google, for DBßs and Office365.
On top the data Integrity is a big plus especially as it increases the availability of the different cloud solutions.

What do you dislike about the product?

Honestly, we haven´t too much to say here, maybe the interface could be fancier and a little less

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

1. Speed of the cloud accessing the data (read and write) in the cloud has been improved improved by 4-7x.
2. Confidentiality & Integrity: We can now use the cloud to store sensitve data without any fear, that a hacker that gets access can use it or destroy the data, allowing us to also archive data in the cloud, no matter what it contains.
3. secure O365 incl. one Drive and sharepoint.
4. move of our oracle DB´s to much cheaper cloud DBMS

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you need to secure your data in 100% in the cloud or if you have issues with the access speed of the cloud might be your product. For all projects we used it, we had a 100% customer satisfaction and apart from 1 project we finished all in time and budget.
