Overview

As an AWS Well-Architected Program Partner, Red River has demonstrated our expertise in building high quality solutions, implementing best practices, checking the state of workloads and making improvements to fit business and customer needs.

Let us put that expertise to work for you! Are you Well-Architected???

The AWS Well-Architected Framework has been developed to help ensure that AWS cloud infrastructures are secure, high-performing, resilient, efficient, and sustainable.

During the Well-Architected Review, a Red River AWS certified architect will facilitate a discussion with your technical and business stakeholders, review your AWS environment and your business requirements and determine how your environment stacks up against the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Realizing that addressing everything at once might be overwhelming for some customers, Red River has created 5 assessments umbrellas based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework that can be done with components that can be separately or in conjunction with each other.

Security Assessment focuses on how to protect data, systems, and assets and to take advantage of cloud technologies to improve the overall security of the cloud workload.

  • The Environment Security Assessment reviews workload security by evaluating account access policies, threat models and security operations.
  • The Identity & Access Management Assessment ensures that only authenticated and authorized users and APIs have the intended access to the cloud resources.
  • The Infrastructure Protection Assessment reviews multiple layers of defense for the network and compute resources.
  • The Detection and Monitoring Assessment gauges the readiness towards security events and incident management.
  • The Data Protection Assessment evaluates deployed data resiliency options, and the lifecycle management processes. It also checks for protection of data at rest and in transit.

Cost Assessment is designed to evaluate the ability to run systems to deliver business value without overspending.

  • The Usage Awareness Assessment analyzes service enablement and associated configurations that provide visibility into resource costs.
  • The Cost-Effective Assessment evaluates services, resources, and data transfer implementations against most cost-efficient options.
  • The Cost Optimization Assessment further checks if newer services can provide further optimization to the deployed services.

Reliability Assessment measures the ability of a workload to perform its intended function correctly and consistently when it is expected to.

  • The Foundation Assessment looks at the overall Network Architecture to ensure applicable reliability measures are leveraged in the AWS environment.
  • The Workload Monitoring & Change Management Assessment reviews monitoring services enabled for gathering log data across resources and services. The assessment reviews the log processing, log analysis, and real-time alerting features in use and evaluates measures in-place to adapt to changes in demand.
  • The Failure Management Assessment reviews cloud workloads' adherence to applicable high availability and disaster recovery services and design options.

Performance Assessment validates efficient use of computing resources to meet system requirements, and to maintain that efficiency as demand changes.

  • The Resource Performance Assessment evaluates the deployed architecture, resources, and services to provide optimal performance.
  • The Continual Improvement Assessment reviews new services, new design patterns, and new product offerings that could provide performance improvement.

Operational Efficiency Assessment evaluates the ability to support development and run workloads effectively, gain insight into the operations, and to continuously improve supporting processes and procedures to deliver business value.

  • The Operation Readiness Assessment assesses the cloud workload for providing operations insights and implementation of continuous improvement processes.
  • The Operation Health Assessment evaluates services that enable health insights and applicable health measures for improvement, investigation, and intervention.

At the end of the assessment, you will receive an actionable plan to address High Risk Issues (HRI's) as well as recommended improvements to your environment. HRI's are defined as a discovery that if not addressed and if exploited or exposed could have a negative impact on your workloads, operations, revenue and/or reputation.
