Overview
To successfully adopt Cloud, you must first understand what IT you are currently using, including infrastructure and application assets.
Once you have identified the assets in use, you must understand the current and predicted utilization of these and how it correlates to business demand. In many cases, IT is over-provisioned and moving like for like will present commercial risks and in-efficiencies.
Our assessment provides non-intrusive discovery of your IT assets, coupled with recommendations for how to migrate this to Amazon Web Services with a robust total cost of ownership based on our twelve years of experience of executing similar processes.
The engagement is executed using an agile iteration where-by the our team will non-intrusively interrogate your existing IT estate to perform the discovery of infrastructure and applications within it.
We will provide guidance of the prerequisites including the agent-less approach to scan the IT estate as well as any risks associated. The process will be executed using the following key steps:
- Planning workshops: review the discovery process, review prerequisites and review any known issues within the environment to be discovered.
- Execution; we enable data capture from the scanning appliance deployed within the client environment and allow this to process data for approximately 1-2 weeks.
- Review; we analyze the data captured and formulate this into the deliverable templates for presentation and review with the client.
Highlights
- Valuable insight into the IT estate; discover the data critical to a successful cloud adoption.
- Assessment report; as-is summary of utilization which is critical to ensure right-sizing for commercial governance as well as cloud suitability and TCO analysis.
