Very good machine learning project
PredictionIO it's a very good machine learning project.
PredictionIO already include Hadoop, Mahout, web UI, API and scheduler and give an opportunity to quick and easy deploy working machine learning solution in minutes instead of hours or days. API to communicate with server also very easy to learn and have SDK in many popular programming languages.
On other side it has some limitations in flexibility. If you want to do something special that authors can't implement yet in product, you'll in trouble.
great system
Great way to get started with PredicitonIO. Be aware that the disk space can fill up pretty rapidly so be ready to add a new volume and shift all the data stores and logs onto it if you plan to run in production.
Warning for new users
The username is 'ubuntu' with a lowercase 'u', not 'Ubuntu' as we are told in the AWS "Usage Instructions". Several weeks were wasted. I got fired from my job. My wife divorced me. My dog ran away. I wish I could take it all back. Don't do what do what I did. Use a lowercase 'u' for the love of all that is good in this world.
