OK – with two major issues …
1. The version available via AWS Marketplace is usually outdated.
2. There's no upgrade feature, you have to replace your full instance for every upgrade.

Working Tool
Installation on amazone was flawless although you really need some knowledge about amazone.
Furthermore it works really without problems (with teamservers and clients).
The only problem I have is that you have no access to the appliance which I know is based on ubuntu. Root or user password is not revealed. The reason I would like to have this is to install an automatic backup procedure to not forget to backup.
Now you can only access the appliance through the webpagges.
I understand that the appliance should work without interference of other applications or changes to its environment and therefore the other access to the environment is blocked.
By the way you do not backup the files but only the admin, users, logging and sharing info and some network parameters.
Used dropbox before which is far too costly if you have 20 users. Now only the cost for amazone. By the way the best is to reserve an instance t2.medium for a year which cost you $249 upfront.
One click deploy in the Oregon Realm
One click launch and away it went. This is the fastest way to deploy AeroFS and great for vendors like us that re-sell AeroFS. It gives us an easy way to quickly deploy multiple instances.
Note however that AeroFS needs 3gb RAM and 12gb of disk - so you cannot get that on the free AWS trial 12 month system.
Deployed using this AMI originally, but please note it is out of date
The reason I am writing this review is because I noticed that 1-star review has appeared for the product. Although the AMI might deserve a 1-star for being out of date (we currently run 0.8.81), this deployment worked and we've been AeroFS premium customers ever since.
I do recommend contacting AeroFS and obtaining a more recent version of the QCOW file. You will need an Ubuntu instance to convert that to a RAW file, and then import it into AmazonS3 bucket. This is not a difficult process, but requires a bit of Amazon knowledge.
Overall though, AeroFS Appliance works exceptionally well. We run it, along with TeamServers, and numbers clients. TeamServers run on top of Windows 2012R2 instances. After trying many solutions including DropBox, BOX, OneDrive, GoogleDrive, etc, I am extremely happy with Aero.

Review of AeroFS
Hello,
RE: Review of AeroFS
I had wanted to see how this looks and feels, but unfortunately there were problems, such as repeated launch failure.
Thank you,
