Commercial dashboards using MicroStrategy
What do you like best about the product?
Custom visualizations integration, easy to use interfaces for end-users, Developer allows to develop complex project

Complex projects might become difficult to maintain due to customizations

Complex, workable solution
What do you like best about the product?
Dossiers make a lot of sense for executive-facing work. I like their ease-of-use and how they generate opportunities for creativity.
What do you dislike about the product?
Most executives are still glued to Excel. While this is still the case and clearly will be for years to come, it would be appreciated if MSTR provided better report export-to-Excel features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation!

i am user the mstr developer tool. it ease the process of creating reports. it give me a chance to create complex reports and save my time when i compare to use sql.

it can be faster. i understand complex reports require serios time but still sometimes waiting for report can be intimidating.

you can solve complex problems with ease when you compare to other data tools. it give you a chance to visualize

Microstrategy is an effective solution for my team to use when leveraging large datasets that leverage a live database connection

Microstrategy has been challenging to work with when importing flat file datasets and joining them to other large datasets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Microstrategy helps us build dashboards with large datasets without crashing or dramatically bogging down tool performance
Its a great tool for self service BI as well as Enterprise BI

Very pleased Microstrategy User/Developer/Admin
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Microstrategy's semantic layer enables my power users to develop their own reports and dashboards, taking workload off my plate! I also very much like the new Workstation desktop application for creating OLAP cubes and dossiers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Microstrategy Developer and Architect greatly needs updating, the interface feels outdated. Also, that Workstation needs to connect to the Intelligence Server via Library and Tomcat server is a pain to configure, after applying a patch especially.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Microstrategy has eased the transition from our legacy/home grown reporting application to a very robust and low maintenance true BI platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Microstrategy has solved all of my organizations BI needs, and we are barely cracking the surface of its capabilities!
Limited experience but it's been very useful for simplifying one of my reporting processes.

Seems like there are still a lot of bug fixes.

Manual process of creating and distributing reports has been simplified and streamlined.
New user this year on 10.3. Looking forward to updated to 2019 this year

Since my company is not on 2020 yet, the one big item I was looking for on Dossers was the ability to stack metrics or attributes. I am glad to see this coming tot he new version.
