Great Product for DBA-focused developers
What do you like best about the product?
The format / GUI is based on a tabular-format, making for a clean look and feel and once acquainted with their functions, ease in navigation. It also includes some functions (statement recall) that makes it quick and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many of the functions delve into some database administrator functions which complicate learning for the newer staff that don't need and/or understand these elements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For seasoned developers, this tool aides in quickly creating not only adhoc reports but also well structured and defined Views and data validation / update for business. It also includes some database elements to help monitor and troubleshoot database issues that occasionally come up without needing to track down a DBA.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you appreciate the tabular format for navigation, then TOAD is a phenomenal product for database navigation and queries. SQL Navigator has many of the same functions with a menu-based navigation for those desiring that look / feel. However, TOAD seems to be developed more (same ownership) and thus has more frequent updates and quite frankly, more functions to make doing your job easier. Furthermore, with better database monitoring functions, it provides seasoned developers with better tools for better development.

What do you like best about the product?
I have used Toad since 1995.....more than 20 years. I've watched the basic design of this product move from solely Oracle, to MySQL, and DB2 too. It is a tool that now delivers specific answers to questions like schemas and tablespaces, to the old friendly editor window, where I've spent at least 10 of those years coding. It's definitely the best independent DBA tools out there; easy to use, powerful, and you've got the editor, that's been my home for a long time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Understands single instance really well. Not always the clustered environments. Haven't tested out the SQL Server tool, as SQL Mgmt Studio really gives it competition.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Built, debugged, examined, wrote a ton PL/SQL code with Toad, including triggers, packages, procedures, functions, sequences, etc, etc, etc. Hands-on, simple interaction with schemas and objects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you've got more than one environment, consider the SPOTLIGHT tool. This allows you to dig in to the server as well as the database and examine the potential real cause of the issue.

The possibility of reach different monitors fast and in a nice display

Buttons are too small to interact, besides the query analyzer should provide more details on the explanation plan.

Fast access to code development as debug of store procedures, functions, etc
Works perfectly - user friendly

Responsive interface, ease of use to access multiple schemas, tuning functionality for basic users is good as well

It does everything we need so far..we dont see any issues

Ease of connecting to Oracle Financials instances to perform technical and maintenance support.
What do you dislike about the product?
TOAD meets all of our development and technical support needs for multiple instances of Oracle FInancials. We have been using it for 18+ years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enables efficient use of scripts to isolate and resolve problems with all Oracle FInancials modules. Enables us to create vast array of reporting views used by our reporting tools.

Toad has met all of our development and technical support needs.

Simple to use for connecting to Oracle Databases. Allows for easy set up of TNS files and really easy to export data into many different formats.

Nothing really to dislike, tool worked as designed.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the search to get the correct product to use which helps me to take reasonable approach to the new purchase. This is help full and accurate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much in my list I can say to include auto search and filters which will be more supportive and fast. Please check and create reviews on views or downloads.

I am helping the team to find alternative products which are cost effective and equally usefull
Wonderful Sales Experience
What do you like best about the product?
I am not a user of Toad, but I procure Toad for our Oracle team. Maintaining the software is a breeze, and the team at Quest is wonderful to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing I can think of that would deter us from purchasing again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our database administrators have used Toad for years to manage our University's financial systems, and has been overwhelmingly reliable.
