Great software tool to connect to all major systems.
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to connect to all major software packages and extract the data I need to run metrics and trends.
What do you dislike about the product?
The connectors to certain software packages are not known and it takes sometime to find them and set them up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can connect directly to Trackwise and extract the data I need to create data dashboards to easily separate data by multiple criteria. The query engine inside Trackwise is not user friendly.

Typically used to find and solve data issues based on incidents in our many systems.

I would recommend this tool for those who need to perform many SQLs and data extracts.
Review of Toad Data Point
What do you like best about the product?
The results table is easy to manage. Also, it keeps the results on separate tabs if you run subsequent queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are problems if the queries can't be visualized. In that case you can't save the quesry. This was possible under the older Toad versions, but not any more. It's a big hassle.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows us to query our databases that don't have good reporting tools.

I'm not sure if the problems I encounter are due to our databases or the Toad tool. I
Not very satisfied with TOAD

I like the Query Builder Tool the most. makes it easy to write the queries if you are not familiar with all the columns in the table

Importing into TOAD is cumbersome process. Cross connection queries are very slow.

We have to access tales from different databases and TOAD has been very helpful in that
Toad is a valuable tool
What do you like best about the product?
Toad helped my team reduce the time we spent managing/maintaining our Oracle database. It allowed us to quickly identify issues within our database. The overall cost savings we logged due to time saved were impressive. While Toad might not be for everyone, it definitely helped us.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not the prettiest interface and sometimes it was hard to find the search function we needed. It's a little pricey. I think the search functionality could be improved to make it a better tool for its end user. It isn't the most user friendly software, however it's also not the worst out there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Although I no longer use Toad, we relied on it heavily because it gave us valuable database management tools that we just didn't get with Oracle. Overall, Toad made our day-to-day operations easier and freed us time that we used to tackle/address other issues. I think it's beneficial to companies who utilize Oracle and need a program that can help them maintain their database(s).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend giving Toad a try if you're looking for software that will allow you to manage your database with ease and especially if you're using Oracle.

After discovery of the tool I cannot imagine not having it available every day. The query hints are so helpful for optimizations.

Nothing. That is why we chose it. I added this line to get past your min character requirement.

Direct access to data through SQL. Identifying performance issues with SQL, and analyzing ways in which to improve it.

Editing capabilities, Formatting of code. Code analysis. SQL Optimizer. The product is feature rich and as solid as they come.

Application size. Many features are not used in our environment.

Secure way for analysts to access database directly. Developers are happy. DBAs can monitor database.
