Toad for Oracle
What do you like best about the product?
Intuitive design, easy to use, and will save countless hours of building queries and performing administrative tasks on Oracle. Very stable product and simply can't live without it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigating options can be cumbersome and sometimes hard to find.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a DBA, I use Toad for Oracle almost 8 hours a day. An indispensable tool providing point and click operations on our Oracle databases. Benefits are speed of command execution, greatly simplifies administrative tasks, provides query tuning suggestions, graphical explain plan representations and various monitoring tools using Oracle's built-in processes.

You really can't go wrong with Toad for Oracle - an excellent product that proves it's value each and every day. Will save countless hours.

Tool for all Oracle Management and Development Needs
What do you like best about the product?
Very Reliable. The Management Suite allows us to perform maintain can configuration functions. Very good SQL development platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Useful functions, especially new releases, aren't always visible and go unused.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Oracle comes with virtually NO management tools and what they do supply is trash. Toad fills that gap at a Very Reasonable price. It has also allowed us to deal with one-of applications that use databases not common for the site, such a MySql. We could not support our ERP without a tool like Toad.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have Oracle, Toad compares very well with competing products, and the price is excellent. If you have a multi-platform environment, Toad provides a common interface across the enterprise.
Toad saves time, makes life simpler for a simple DBA
What do you like best about the product?
The graphical interface really saves time. I am a single DBA at a University. The tools (as opposed to command line SQL) is wonderful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Toad is a bit too smart, attempting to fill in information and that can get in the way of typing. It also takes a while to get information from large packages in an Oracle Database.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I support a University with several Oracle Databases.

Buy it, I consider it an essential tool.

the product seems a little pricey at first but in the long run it was worth it

What do you like best about the product?
Toad is a solid tool with many built in DBA features from session browser to AWR browser.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is a large application and does consume many system resources. The cost of the product makes it challenging to roll the tool out enterprise wide.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tool of choice for developers whom need to write and tune SQL. By using the tool that resources are already familiar with make it easy for resources to be able to be efficient quickly.

The product is really great. At this point I don't think it is lacking anything. I recommend to use tis product.

Great features. The worksheet, SQL formatter and database objects browser are super great features that improve the productivity. The debugger is the best in a class by its own. The PL/SQL debugger provided me the ability to debug complex procedures and packages

Not many things I dislike. Maybe some features for improvement in the future

TOAD makes everything easier and simpler.
I have used TOAD with SQL SERVER and ORACLE, and TOAD is much better than the management software provided by Oracle and Microsoft.
It allows to do 100% of the tasks required by a developer or by an admin, and much quicker than the original software.

The tabs management can be confused, specially if you are working with several connections at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly administering databases, from the admin point of view (users, permissions, backups...) and also developer point of view (coding, compiling...)
Nice DB management Tool for Oracle
What do you like best about the product?
Although TOAD is used as DB Management tool for other DB's, my experience is more limited to Oracle.
* Best client in terms of IDE like features for e.g. auto completion, syntax highlighting etc.
* Easy to setup and create DB connections with good sidebar features.
* Easy file exporting options and formatting is very simple too.

* Pricing - Each variant licence will cost you. It's not like one TOAD is used for all.
* UI is bit old and bloated.

All of my day to day DB functionality and Oracle work is done in TOAD.

Easy for daily Oracle database management. It reduces the effort and time you put into managing and maintaining Oracle databases.
When dealing with the task of exporting data with requirements, toad can provide different type of file formats according to your demand. Especially with large amount of data exporting(there is a parameter in Toad setting to control for large amount of data exporting).

Compare with other SQL developer, toad is more suitable for administration. The feature for developers is not quite obvious.
Database stored procedures cannot be overloaded.
The price is also a little expense for advance DBA version.

Daily management and performance monitor is easily solved when using toad.
With toad, some cure developer in develop team can monitor the database performance of production, they can find out some bad SQL by themselves when the members in DBA teams is not able to focus on bad SQL tuning.

Toad is easy to use for daily management and operation of Oracle Database.
It provide almost all functions in your daily demand, the deployment is convenient, you do not need to install agent in your system, just with Oracle client and right configuration is enough.
You can manage different database all in one toad and make full use of repeated procedures.
