A user friendly softwae
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use this software. The learning curve is very short. Anyone with a database experience will be able to use it in a minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The performance could be a little sow, also it took a while to set up the database connection.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data analysis. It's so easy to sort the result data.

If you have loads of data processing to do, extraction and uploading this is the way to go
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to connect to many data sources. We connect to local and cloud databases and move information from one place to the other seamlessly. Scheduling works like a dream and is super reliable
What do you dislike about the product?
There are things that are not simple to figure out - for example, automation of complex excel reporting is not obvious
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ETL for our database related processes. We collect a massive amount of data from our data providers, the likes of Reuters, Markit, large housing associations and we process this data to add value. We also run an extensive operation involving valuations of complex derivatives that require a massive amount of data to be processed, saved and applied across different applications. Toad has made the development of these processes agile and easy to work with. One of my favourite features is the verbose logging which pinpoints where particular jobs have failed. We also use it as an alert tool which monitors the presence of expected data using preset tables. This aligns us with regulatory obligations that require us to have systems that check for the presence and accuracy of the data we work with.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When you are working with an Oracle database (or any database that works with Toad) then buy Toad. Especially if your business heavily relies on the ability of systems to upload, transform or extract data - this is the place to be.

Quick and easy to install and setup, connects to all sources I need and care for, does the job easily.

Not very easy to download and install a new version - requires login etc.

Data research, corrections to operational data.

I really like the query builder in Toad as it provides a way to visualise the data relationships.

Very occasionally, Toad will crash, but otherwise nothing comes to mind

Exploring data and producing ad hoc reports. Converting an SQL query into code format for VB has been a great time saver
I am a big fun of the tool. i use it to profile data from multiple sources

Profiling and ability to connect to multiple databases

sometimes it's slow. I am not able to use this with our cloud products

I have multiple sources and targets, I use the tool to reconcile and profile the data before I write to my target using ETL tools.
Great software. Perfect for an Analyst that works in various environments.

Can work with multiple odbc connections/connectors with ease. Error reports are detailed and helpful.

Interphase is a little clunky. Specifically when trying to enlarge script editor and result windows

Mostly ad hoc. Pulling together analysis from multiple databases within the company. I realized that within my company there are several databases where we host our data and with Toad I can easily connect to each source and pull data within one tool
Great Product- Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
Ease to connect, query, and publish queries or data.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is hard to query 2 different data sources without having to query both, load into an intermediate source and then merge the data
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are automating queries and reports with ease now. We additionally now have a very nice way to store our queries into a centralized repository using Toad Intelligence central.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a lot easier to use than using other tools that we had reviewed. It is a little pricey, but worth the cost.

Quick database connections in one application without the need for separate GUIs.

Just go for it - no issues and so easy to connect to your databases!

What do you like best about the product?
Toad is such an easy tool to start using without much knowledge. It is just very intuitive. In addition, there are good resources to help increase your knowledge and very proficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
It costs money and starting to be some nice competitive free tools.

Helps to reduce time with PL/SQL development. Provides intuitive view of database structures.
