Citrix ADC in the ALM Environment

  • June 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Citrix ADC works really well across a global enterprise platform. One of the best advantages is that you can execute a process, log off the machine, and then reconnect at a later time, and the session resumes where you left off. It seems to work better on a local network, but once firewall ports are opened on all networks, the efficiency still maintains with a little latency. The load bearing aspect works quite well across multiple servers and machines.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are times when Citrix does freeze and hang up and then all processes need to be restarted. This causes a lot of time delays when cash flows need to be reported in a timely manner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving asset liability solutions on an enterprise network. We are using distributed compute across several machines to calculate cash flows for millions of transactions. The bank is also using this for multiple employees to access various databases across multiple networks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure that firewall ports and permissions are setup prior to installing the software. Also, you can use 'dumb' terminals to run Citrix from so no need for expansive investment in hardware.

One stop solution to power your organizational networks

  • April 10, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Citrix SD-WAN provided our organizational group a major leap forward in improving the applications through the built-in application control engine. The user experience provided by Citrix SD-WAN was user-friendly and provided the best user experience for SaaS and cloud systems. Prioritization of the networks was one of the important features which it provides with seamless user experience
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the major issues was the engineering team who marketed the product to our organization, they were not well equipped and was unable to provide an answer for most of the queries. Another issue was the performance, at times suddenly the performance used to slow down drastically and once reported to my IT team, it is back to normal with a fix
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
AWS balancing and Microsft Axure performance efficiencies
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For small to large organizations focussing on digitalization and efficiencies in networking, Citrix SD-WAN is the way forward. It is very user-friendly and a clean solution for what it is supposed to do. Improve connectivities and enable business continuity to your projects and customers through Citrix SD-WAN

  • September 21, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I admittedly have limited knowledge, but I loved the experience the little bit I used Citrix
What do you dislike about the product?
For our purposes, it would hang up periodically
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
external work from home solution
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would make sure it fits all of your current needs before implementing. It worked well for the purposes that we used it for, but that wasn't without issue.

MTU Size is an issue, otherwise, great product

  • April 21, 2015
  • Review verified by AWS Marketplace

I setup the netscaler to use for testing to see how it would work with XenApp 7.6. I was not able to get the Netscaler Gateway to work for external access on any platform. After several days of being on the phone with Citrix support, we found that the MTU size on the Windows 2012 server that was acting as the XenApp server needed to be changed to 1500.

I followed the info at http://www.sysadmintutorials.com/tutorials/microsoft/windows-2008-r2/how-to-set-windows-2008-r2-mtu/ to make the adjustments. After this, everything started working as expected.
